NO ! ABSOLUTELY NOT !
This shop isn't terrible because my boyfriend has had the man who works there give him hair cuts before and they've turned out amazing BUT let me tell you about this little worker right here (yes I'm not calling her a stylist because she doesn't deserve that title). So me and my bf walk on to get his hair cut, she acts very strange like she's never worked at this shop a day in her life when she greets us, she was scattering around and up and left and went to the back for a little before even signing us in. Then she comes out with her boss and he says "you can go ahead and start cutting his hair I'll ask the lady for his information" speaking about me. So she sits my bf down and starts twisting his hair up and putting clips in it, fine. Then she starts cutting and stops after a little to say "actually I'm going to take a picture" so she undoes all that she just did and takes a picture. Then re does what she was doing. I left for a little (Max 10 min) to get bleaching and toning stuff from across the street at Sally's Beauty, because that's what he wanted to do with his hair this time. When I came back he had a scared face on and a bowl cut? A SHORT bowl cut it looked terrible. I didn't say anything even tho that was not the style he showed her pictures of and I knew that wasn't what he wanted. She starts aggressively snipping away at his hair leaving uneven chunks and not really "blending" anything. Also during her chopping spree she kept looking at her watch, even tho she had 45 min before closing and was close to done. Every time she looked at her watch she sped up at one point she was speed cutting and cut her comb she was using because she wasn't paying attention. She asked my bf "rounded if straight across in the back?" And before he said anything she went right in and started cutting again (he did not want a super short cut but she didn't care) After she "finished" her ... job? If that's even what it was she took off his little apron thing and said "you're done" before wiping away any hair (which was everywhere - on his face, back and all over his neck along with red stripes where she aggressively cut the back of his hair and blood where she cut the back of his head) and then pushed him back in the chair and started cutting something again. My bf noticed my concerned face and said "what??" And I told him "nothing it'll be fine" thinking we'd just go to another shop and have them actually properly style his hair - but he was concerned and said "no please say it while we're here" so I looked at him and pointed out that there was no "blending" of his hair on the sides and the top was choppy - the lady walks over attitude immediately turned on and CUTS MORE and said "where ??? What's not even??" So I pointed it out and she said "listen I don't come into your job and tell you what to do so don't act like you know what I'm doing" and to me that was very unprofessional because a hair cut is supposed to be what the person wants not what the stylist (in her case train wreck creator) wants. So for her to say I shouldn't tell her what to do was wrong. Not to mention I was mostly questioning why it looked like that. Well she pissed and started mouthing off because I was asking her to do a good job not just a get it done job and walked us to the register at this time I was annoyed because she had started listing off her jobs she's had? I guess in an effort to make me think she knew what she was doing but I was just ignoring her and then when we were being checked out by her she was glaring at me like she was trying intimidate me or make me take back what I said about her hair cut. All in all do not ask for her she's rude and thinks by treating people like garbage she's going to have a career.

This is a great place to have your hair done.  Friendly and helpful staff.  Most of the stylists have been with this location for years and years.
Their prices are reasonable.
Angela foils my hair and she does a great job.  Had mine redone a few days ago by her and it looks fantastic.

I moved to the Columbia, SC area 4 years ago and have been drifting from salon to salon trying to find a stylist who has the skills to cut my very thick hair.  I even went to a swanky salon in the Vista that was on one of those "Best of Columbia" lists only to walk out of it with hair that was cut 1" shorter on one side!!  A few months ago, I happened to see a sponsored post on Facebook by this Cost Cutters location. I browsed thru their photos of actual customer hair cuts and I liked what I saw--very stylish cuts and they all looked to be cut evenly, so I decided to give them a try.  Angela cut my daughter's hair first and gave her a beautiful, stacked bob.  A few days later Angela cut my hair--I showed her a picture of what I basically wanted and 30 minutes and $26.95 later I walked out of there with perfectly cut hair.  Finally, I have found someone who has the skills to give me the precision hair cut I wanted--and for half the price that I have paid in the swanky upscale salons!!  I returned two months later for a trim, and again Angela didn't let me down.  I'm beyond satisfied.
