We drove 1.15hrs to get my son's first haircut here. He is two and has ASD, his hair came down past the middle of his back for reference. Jamie cut his hair and was very thorough and worked extremely well with him. He kept reaching for the scissors so we had to hold his hand but she was very cautious and patient with having the scissors around his hands. We will absolutely be only coming here for my son's haircuts.

We drove 40 min for my six year old daughters first real haircut. Such a waste of gas. First off, the salon smelled horrible. Like gagging horrible. They were 15 min late even though we had an appointment and when I asked how long it would be, she rolled her eyes and snapped at me. The salon is also disgustingly dirty. Its dingy and everything looks like it's covered in snot. And when we were finally called, she just vaguely waved at us and took us back. I did not feel welcome to watch and take pictures of her first haircut so I just sat down in the reception area. And as many other people have said, the front desk ladies look absolutely miserable to be there. Not welcoming or friendly at all. If I could give negative stars, I would. Don't bother. This place is awful.

As a mom of a toddler who was absolutely mortified of haircuts; I was very hopeful that cookie cutters would be the salon where we could 1. Get a finished cut (other cutteries would turn us away with half a cut once seeing my sons overly dramatic temper tantrum 2. Get a decent cut (clearly very hard to do on a thrashing, screaming kid who's way too strong for his age) . Trisha was reassuring, patient, engaging and quick so my lil man's "torture" didn't lst long . You can tell she really loves the art of cutting hair and loves working with children!! She is the absolute best and I will forever keep coming back as long as she works there.

My son isn't a fan of hair cuts, so I was excited to find Cookie Cutters. We live in northern Kentucky, it's about 45 minutes each way, but if he has a great experience somewhere, I'm happy to drive. Unfortunately Trisha was our stylist. She was rushed, rude, and things escalated quickly. As she asked what style we wanted, I mentioned that his biggest challenge with hair cuts is when the hair falls in his face. She told me we are paying for a hair cut. A hair cut is 15 minutes and she can't do a lot of other things because she doesn't have time. I responded that trying to catch the hair (or any other tricks/ideas she has being a stylist for KIDS) shouldn't take long, I didn't ask for more time, but I'm certainly happy to pay for another 15 minutes if that's the problem, which I offered to do. She told me that their business model is in and out of the chair in 15 minutes, that's what she was instructed to do by the owner. She was anxious, agitated, and I'm not even sure how we reached that point honestly. As she's starting to touch the clippers to his head, the guard was old/bad/who knows, and it pulled his hair and made him cry. She had to change it. She started again and he was crying but she was still able to work on his hair with my help. She keeps bringing up her limited time, incredibly rushed, and she was making ME anxious. I told her I didn't want to talk about her time limits anymore, she's already made it clear and that the owner is the person I'll be talking to since this experience has been awful and I'm livid. I just want to finish my son's haircut and I'll reach out to the owner later. At this point, we were in the chair less than 10 minutes. All of this conversation is happening while my child is in the chair crying and scared. Next, she gets the small clippers out, she said "now it's time to cut around his ears with these trimmers while my hands are literally shaking because I'm so upset!" Ummmm what?! So she starts to cut, her hands are shaking so badly and she's visibly angry. She stops cutting, mumbles something I couldn't hear under her breath and takes off to the back room. Leaves my 4 year old son sitting in a Mickey Mouse car with half a hair cut and walks away. I was in shock, I wondered if someone was playing a joke on us, and then I was sad for my son and angry. I got him out of the seat and asked the other stylist to please do the haircut for my other son who was supposed to be next. I wasn't letting Trisha near my kids again after that insanity. She came back out crying and almost yelling, telling the other stylist that she only has 15 minutes and can only do a haircut. I didn't ask her to give him a perm! I didn't ask her to cut each hair individually! I simply mentioned that his main issue with hair cuts is the hair falling in his face. Megan was the other stylist, and she was fantastic. She completed my younger son's hair cut in less than 10 minutes and it looked great. She got my 4 year old back in the chair to finish the disaster that Trisha left him with, and she was so kind. She gave me a towel to wipe his face as she cut, she counted, she gave him a comb to touch while she was cutting, and she even asked him if she could wipe his face at the end which he allowed. Megan was finished with the repair in less than 10 minutes. Megan also managed the phones and the line that was backing up because she was left alone to do all of the cuts, while Trisha had a panic attack over her "15 minutes." Both cuts cost $40 total and I gave her a $25 tip. I would've paid double for the service that Megan provided to my boys. I drove the 45 minutes home in shock and a little tearful going over the events in my mind. Attached is a screen shot of the service description on their website. I almost choked on my coffee when I read it tonight. This is NOT what we experienced today.

As a mom to an autistic child, I was very pleased with this experience! Megan, our stylist, made accommodations and took things slow with my son, and she was very kind to him and myself. She made sure he was aware of what was happening with each step in the cut. She was very fast as well! The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is due to the somewhat rude receptionist who seemed like she didn't want to be there. Thanks Megan!
