I have been visiting Confidence Upscale Salon for years, and fully trust the stylist here to help me manage my thick natural hair. The salon is clean and inviting, the owner and staff are knowledgeable and creative, and I'm always super happy with my style and the ongoing health of my hair.

I have been a client of this business for about 6 months with no problems except the unprofessional gossip that the beauticians like to indulge in, in front of clients......(stylists conduct themselves as elegant professional stylist) which I always thought were miserable women, yet I continued to patronize because I was satisfied with my hair service. However today I went into the shop and they had a new inexperienced shampoo girl with a nasty attitude who was an absolute disaster. It was an awful uncomfortable experience. The owner (Brittany) didn't handle the situation in a professional manner at all. I paid with a wet head that was greasy and I left......I would not advise hiring a girl that can't do hair let alone wash hair are detangle to service paying clients. At the shampoo bowl she made a comment to me that was absurd and was so unacceptable while commenting she's bored.......that was red flag  #1 and just presented a real unenthusiastic demeanor about even being at work to add insult to injury the energy in the situation was as if I was to blame. Brittany (owner) was concerned about me paying for 1/2 done service and didn't want to rectify the situation until I ask to speak with her outside and then stated she would speak with the shampoo girl afterwards, When she should have addressed  the incident immediately at the time instead of allowing it to continue. When the girl didn't know wth she was doing. I am quiet as a church mouse in that shop, with from what I was told has a high turn over rate, however today I was absolutely triggered. FYI I have professional products and tools at home and have enough knowledge to know washing hair in cold water has awesome benefits that's why my hair is thick, long & healthy while that barely out of Highschool with so much attitude had HOT water on my hair initially . No one in that shack is a super model so the audacity that they are always talking about someone and I know I'm not the only client who has observed the negative unacceptable behavior. One beautician could be Rick Ross twin this the ring leader of gossiping and antagonizing when she speaks I've observed how she engages with others, and the other could be The Bride of Chucky - none of them are beauty queens yet the audacity they seem to pride themselves on trash talking about people and it always puzzled me however, I should not be surprised are shock that the owner (Brittany) reacted how she did to me today. I will never in life patronize this shack of a shop again because to call it a multicultural salon is only to service clients they fill they should treat with respect. When the owner came outside after I requested, not that she volunteered her entire demeanor change because random consumers of no color were around. I don't patronize businesses who don't treat all people with equality therefore they need my money more than I need my hair serviced, it's many healthy professional salons who appreciate paying customers and treat them with respect. Karma always make its way around the universe. My advice would be don't hire cheap inexperienced labor for your own personal gain that's the quickest way to lose clients.

When u know better I would hope u do better.....Indy is small so after I contacted some natives other information was brought to my attention and I am  going to say things happen for a reason. A unprofessional shop is the difference from a peaceful professional salon.

Beautiful salon, cleanliness on point! As soon as you arrive, you're asked to wash you hands before signing in. You must wear a mask and your stylist wears one the entire time.
ASK FOR SWAY! She's amazing! Skilled, conversational, knows what she's doing!

I just moved here 6 months ago & I've been having trouble with the stylist in INDY. Someone recommend that I try this salon because they take walk-Ins & they do a great job. I'm so glad that I came!!! I got in for a color , she nailed it.. I explained that i was nervous & she let me know that I shouldn't be at all b/c she would not be bleaching or lifting the hair. I was in shock, most of the other stylist told me I would have to bleach in order to get the color I wanted.  Her personality was bomb , very giggly and smiley. Sway did not make me feel like I was an inconvenience to her like many in Indy.  She did great and there were also a few ladies that helped her wash to minimize the time. I really do love my hair .& I will be back .

I do not recommend this salon at all. They price gouge. The first time I went there they charged me $50 for cut and color. The 2nd time I went there they charged me $90 for same service. The 3rd time I went there I took my biracial daughter with me and she got texturized and straightening and I got color and cut and they charged me $175 for BOTH of us. I went in last week for cut, color, and highlight and my hair is extremely short pixie cut and they charged me $190. I have never in all my life been charged such a ridiculous amount. I will never go back. They lost me and my daughters business. If you make an appointment there I would tell them the service you want and get a pricing BEFORE they take you back. As I was up paying the $190 the stylist was nowhere to be found. I'd hide too if I done someone that way.
