I'm not sure if I'd say this place is 2 or 3 stars. I've gotten my hair cut 3 times now, by Brandi each time, and it really is hit or miss. The first time, the cut was okay but not really like my inspiration photos. I don't think she knows how to style wavy hair, it ended up being crunchy but greasy and also straight at the same time (and every time). I also asked for her to not style my hair twice to avoid this and she still did. It's California prices easily but the work isn't California quality. Second cut was good, it looked like my inspiration photos (same photos as before).

My last haircut is the worst haircut I've gotten in my adult life. I have wavy hair, it was cut straight. The entire time I was facing away from the mirror so I couldn't even intervene when things started going too far. My hair was then blow dried straight and flat ironed; and then she kept on cutting. I was too mentally dead to say anything about it. I think she may have been trying to hide mistakes with flat ironing. I ended up looking like a soccer mom mixed with the "Karen" haircut, but as a woman in her early 20s. It's not a look whatsoever. Over the next couple washes I got to see how literally clumps of hair were missing, even when styled straight. During the haircut I mentioned my concerns that she was cutting my hair while it was straight and she told me that she was leaving enough there for my hair to still be styled normally (wavy). Everytime I let my hair be wavy when styling it looked like I had a bowl cut starting at my ears, so no it wasn't cut so my hair could be wavy. I didn't start looking normal-ish until now (about 3 months post cut).

Moral of the story, be prepared to advocate for yourself if you come here. Ask to have your hair cut while facing the mirror. Be that person who is super duper clear about your concerns and direct them how you'd prefer things to be done. You're the one who will love or hate your appearance for months after leaving and it's a hit or miss chance you're taking here.

Traveling for 4 months needed a haircut. Called and they were open on a Monday and Rachel had an opening. She did a great job. Don't let this place fool you it's looks a bit scary from the outside but it is sweet inside very well done. Rachel was warm and welcoming and i totally enjoyed talking to her.

New to Eielson and my GF needed a haircut and break from a very long week. Natalie stayed after closing to accommodate her and gave her a beautiful hair cut and hair treatment. The service was great and my GF haircut was phenomenal! Worth every penny.

My go to salon! GALILEE HALBERT has colored my hair for few years, I'm always happy when I leave the salon. The prices are great for Fairbanks and I have always been satisfied with the service. I've finally found my spot to go to when it comes to hair. I highly recommend!

$273 for highlights and a one-inch trim on thin, shoulder length hair that took 5 hours .
