Absolutely love, love, love! Today was my first visit at Cactus Hair Salon and everything about my visit was absolutely wonderful! From the location to the adorable decor to the friendliness of the staff - everything was great! My appointment was with Monica. For my appointment, I had scheduled a regular cut/color. After discussing my concerns with Monica, we decided to add an express treatment as well. When I tell you that Monica completely nailed it, I mean she DELIVERED! My hair looks SO healthy and brand new! I highly recommend Monica if you are looking for a new hair stylist/salon! I already have my next appointment booked with her in November!
Recently visited for a first visit. Jordan was amazing and very professional and knowledgeable about hair. Listened to your wants, and needs and looked at pictures I took. She nailed the finished product! Everyone should give her a try!! You will not be disappointed.
Over 3 hours (stylist + assistant) for an expensive ($250 + tip) bad haircut, inexperienced stylist - unable to even style my hair due to piling on a variety of different heavy products, but good color (chosen by myself & the assistant, who was very nice). I have very short, baby fine hair with little volume. I requested all-over color with Babylights (less than 10 foils closer to my face vs all over), and a pixie cut (pictures provided) that I've had several times over years, telling them it works well with my hair & can be easily styled without using styling tools. In hindsight I should have walked after the initial color & cut review process. It's now obvious by the comments the stylist made and requiring the owner's help from the very beginning of the appointment that she had never worked on fine hair & was uncomfortable. Although the owner had a client, she gave the stylist a snippet cut demo & explanation, unfortunately the stylist was unable to reproduce the method and I now have a bad haircut, looking like a bowl cut vs a nice tapered cut. The stylist walked away during my appointment 3 or 4 times; once during the cut for almost 10 minutes, leaving he assistant just standing there. Never once during my 60-75 minute wait after the color was applied did the stylist return to see how things looked, are you ok, it will only be ## minutes longer, there was zero communication with her. If this is a teaching salon, which it appeared to be, it should be stated as such on their website, along with a list of graduated rates based on the stylist's experience level. However the Cactus website states, "We offer professional cuts, coloring and styling..." and "We also ensure that our stylists is trained and experienced to be able to provide any type of hair care service you are interested in..." Obviously not, and customers have a right to know that. I will not give them kudos for saying 'trained & experienced for any type of hair care service' vs hair type; that is splitting hairs (forgive the pun). At check out I was unable to get an itemized receipt, "Sorry no printer today," entered my email address, no receipt that way either (& not it's not in the junk/spam file). I checked my credit card this morning, $294! The charges for the salon services + various tip %'s doesn't add up to $294.... aside from the fact that $300 is too expensive for very short hair to be cut into a pixie with color & a couple highlights.
I had an appointment today for the 1st time. When I walked in I was greeted by several of the staff and introduced to my stylist Hayden. I went to have my brows crafted and he was an ultimate skilled artist! Hayden 1st askex me what I expected, he then explained what he would do and continued to explain throughout the process. It was pretty quick and turned out beautifully. I will be back! I'm a bit shy on posting a Pic but believe me, very well done. I'm extatic.
Compelled to comment again after the owner's response. I was there the week the shop opened. Prices were not yet on the website and prices were not discussed prior to my appointment-this is an absolute untruth. I actually shared the information I put In the review when I called to cancel the follow-up appointment that I had made - I was told someone was going to call me to discuss. No one ever did so I left a review. At the time I paid I commented about the price and the stylist told me she did not set the prices the owner did. I erroneously assumed the prices would be the same and set by the stylist. Making a false statement that I knew the price and there was a consultation as an owner is very sad indeed, that never happened and again I just assumed the stylist would have the same prices. I compared to Penzone's because if I'm driving that far I will go to an established salon and have a salon experience I want for the same price.
