BGC SALON in Phoenix, AZ

I have been a client of a stylist at this location for some years now. I usually have a great experience, from choosing a date that works for me AND my stylist to walking out with great before and after photos, feeling fine. The last three visits have seen my experiences getting progressively worse. I try to be objective as I am a friend of the salon, but I can tell my usual stylist is losing his interest in doing hair. This isn't only because he's told me so, which is why he's been trying to start businesses on the side, but also because he is always distracted, seems to be rushing, and is using improper technique and tools on my hair. As a cosmotologist myself, I know you wouldn't want to use a fine tooth rat tail comb to rip through hair, mid strand first, immediately after lightening. You would use a wide tooth comb to avoid tangles, knots, and tearing of hair. I also experienced burns to my scalp as well as "hot roots" because lightener was applied directly to my skin. Needless to say after this last visit I won't be forgiving or allowing anymore chances. I will find a new stylist to work with, one who still loves hair and is still capable of being professional. Apologies to BGC as I know they are a great business, but I also do not appreciate being made to sit next to friends of clients, people not even getting their hair done, who refuse to wear a mask during a pandemic. Shame on you all.

Ruined my hair and blamed me for having "thyroid" problems. Now dealing with a portion of my hair that is all of 2 inches in length. Furious with this poor service. According to 3 different stylists, she over-processed my hair.

I have been going to stylish Sean Hunter for years, he is amazing! He works with you to give you the cut and style you want. He can do it all, from more traditional cuts to wild colors. He is awesome, and the studio is super cute, too!

Courtney is an amazing hair colorist and stylist. She took the time to understand what I wanted and over delivered. She was also super helpful in squeezing me in last minute to fix the color from another salon. Highly recommend!!

I went in to see Ceiba for a haircut & shared that I'd been growing my hair out for about 6 years & needed a change, but thought I might need to keep it long due to the shape of my face. I asked her for advice & she was super helpful. I loved that she was honest about what would look good and what would head me in the wrong direction. She has a great personality, easy to talk to & does a great haircut! No complaints here & I'll definitely be back!
