I have to say that I'm a bit perplexed by the amazing reviews posted on yelp and google. I made an appt at B&K for a last minute manicure, because my regular salon was fully booked, and the reviews looked good. It was a bit dingy inside but figured I would still give it a shot. I had bob as my manicurist. The first thing Bob did was pull out the electric filer, and was able to start filing down my bare nails. I asked him politely not to use it due to the extensive damage that tool causes. He pushed back a bit but finally obliged. He started with filing and cuticle cutting while I picked my color out. I was very surprised by the lack of options (and no normal brands like Essie or opi), but did find one that I was OK going with. I got a gel manicure. After the color was set, he said I was all done. I got no hand massage, no lotion, no wet towel, nothing l. Honestly very strange. Isn't that what 75% of a manicure is? I decided to just let it go because I just wanted to go home at that point. All in all was $35. This is pretty expensive to begin with but ridiculous for what I received. I will not be going back here again.
Great local spot. I got a gel manicure last week that is holding up very well. Bob did a very nice job, especially with my cuticles.
