I have known Angie, I think it was 1996. She made me blonde for my new boyfriend and Vegas! I must have looked good he wanted to marry me. Ii have extremely thick, naturally curly long hair. You really have to be excellent to handle cutting or coloring this hair. I have moved shops with her twice and was so happy for her when she became owner of Axis. My husband used her also and I have taken my granddaughter there when she visits me from out of town. I have never let anyone else cut my hair since I met Angie. I couldn't say enough good she is also very friendly, makes you feel comfortable and at home. I don't have anything negative to say.
Angie has cut my hair for approx. 15 years and never disappoints. That's saying something b/c I wear it super-short and there's no room for error. When it comes to color, trust her! I cannot recommend her or Kyra enough!!
I moved to Little Rock a couple of years ago and was still in trying to find an affordable trendy place when my friend recommended Axis Salon. A couple of other friends and I were going to get highlights, and I was terrified because I had never done anything to my hair but have it cut. Angie was recommended to us, but she was booked until August, so instead, she recommended Kenny. Not only is he experienced but he was patient with my inexperience. He spent a long time with us, and although I think he could have gotten us in and out if we were on a bigger time crunch, instead, he wanted to make sure we were comfortable with the changes. My field of work is fairly conservative, so I wanted subtle highlights -- and that's exactly what I got. It was $60 for the highlights and $25 for the haircut (not including tip), which isn't bad considering I was paying $50+ for just a haircut at M Salon. For me, the haircut was comparable to M Salon.
The place is a little difficult to find, so if you've never been before, I would call for directions first. The salon is very clean and doesn't reek of hair products. They don't push you to buy their products, either. The only reason why I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because the salon is a little small. There weren't quite enough wash stations, but then again, I'm sure Kenny didn't anticipate on spending so much time with us.
