love it. inexpensive so i can try different things. If i don't like it, it will grow back. it may take a little longer, but they are learning and want to do it right.  Walmart is worse. rude terrible cuts.

I love coming here for basic haircuts. You have to understand that this is a school, though. It is a place of learning. The students who are doing these services are learning. If you are very particular about what you want, or are nervous about it not coming out exactly how you want it, then this is probably not the place for you. On the other hand, if you want to get a really affordable haircut and don't mind if it's not perfect, then try it out.

Instructors roam through the room during service hours and are obligated to sign off on your haircut or service. If you are not satisfied, you let the supervisor know and they will either guide the student or help them get it to how you like it.

I'm a fan!

I have been to Capilo/Aveda twice. The first time I had my eyebrows waxed. The second I had my hair done. If I were basing it just off the hair cut it would be a 5 star review. When I had my eyebrows done she was too timid and was afraid to take off too much. I had some caterpillar eyebrows and wanted much thinner.
But let's talk about my haircut. It was amazing. I had a student named Amber assigned to me. I had her cut off 15 inches of hair (to donate) and then got a style. I brought a picture as a guideline but really gave her free range. She was so excited to do layers and play with it. When she was unsure of something (like whether to use a razor or regular scissors on the choppy layers) she asked her teacher who came over and gently guided her. I went in at 4:30 on a Thursday and it was the perfect time. The salon was very relaxed and the students were having fun with each other. I don't think I'll be going anywhere else while I live in the area.

Just got my hair colored here and it was a huge mistake. The color is bad, lacks any depth or nuance whatsoever, and my hair is now the texture of straw. I had to make an appointment at an actual hair salon to get it fixed, which is going to cost at least another $100, if they can even fix it. Going to the Aveda Institute in Augusta for color ended up costing me an extra, wasted $54 that I had to pay them, and 3 hours of wasted time. If you care about your color, don't be tempted to save a few bucks and roll the dice on this place. Avoid it at all costs.
