I followed Angel from Jolie Nails in Clawson, and have always appreciated his customer service... but I was disappointed at my last visit. I wanted sheer/jelly pink, and this milky pink was the closest they had. The color is splotchy on my toes, and somehow a $35 pedicure with a 20% tip cost $55. I immediately left and went to buy myself the color I wanted and changed my polish myself.
Time for a little story...I stopped for an ice cream on the way home from work and noticed Angel's. I thought, "Ya know, why not get a quick manicure to look nice for Easter?" I stopped in around 4:45 and asked to come back at 5:30 (I wanted to let the dog out and finish my giant ice cream cone in peace). They convinced me to stay saying that it would get "very busy" by then. So I stay, scarfing my ice cream down before she's finished prepping my right hand. The manicure itself was subpar - she did not clean under my nails at all and the shape was just okay. But no worries, I just wanted a quick in-and-out fix-up with some polish. Everything was fine until the second coat of polish. I noticed she was putting it on quite thickly and then she applied the top coat...also pretty thick. Sure enough, as it's starting to dry, the paint starts creasing and bubbling. The nail tech blamed me for putting my nails too close to the fan. I've been getting my nails done for 25 years and unless you an industrial level fan, like the one they use after floods, it is not going to BLOW your nail polish off. The nail tech was also "cleaning" the edges with her own nail, oftentimes messing up the polish and having to apply MORE top coat which I knew was going to be a disaster. Then she gave my pinky 3 coats so it was more opaque then the rest of my nails. Phew. Anyways. We're done now and she has fixed the wind-blown nails and I'm drying under the actual nail dryer. Sure enough, same thing happens. Now the owner says that it "must be the fan." Are you kidding me? LOL. They take me back to the chair and the tech applies...you guessed it...MORE TOP COAT. I'm thinking I will just leave and can't wait to go when...wait... I look and ALL my nails have this weird dull finish. I think she accidentally put primer on instead of a top coat. (By the way, it's now 5:30 and it's literally no busier, maybe less busier, than when I got there). At this point, the owner comes over again and I ask for them to remove the polish and give me a refund. My nails were a mess. (I honestly think the tech was in training or maybe a daughter filling in for the day). The owner says, "Can you come back tomorrow?" I appreciate the offer but for real?! I insisted on a refund so the owner goes to the drawer and gives me $25 in cash. As I'm sitting getting the polish taken off, she decides to go and void the transaction, showing me the receipt and snatching the cash off my lap. Amazing. Moral of the story...never take a chance on an unknown nail salon while indulging in a Dole Whip. But do get the ice cream, go home, apply press-on nails, and feel fantastic.
Angel nails is my favorite place to go for manicures and pedicures! I have done shellac manicures and shellac pedicures here as well as a full gel set and fill-in with great results every time. I have had Orsela do my hands and Angel do my pedicures. Today I actually did a shellac manicure on my natural nails instead of a gel set so Angel did it himself. Everyone here is so kind and also detail oriented I always have a great experience. I also feel like the prices are reasonable and it's a nice relaxing atmosphere. If you haven't had a man do your pedicure before, then I highly recommend it. Angel does such a great job!
I went with my girlfriend and had a great time with great staff and atmosphere I would go again
I went in for a full leg wax, bikini wax, trim, & underarm wax. Paid $200 plus a $60 tip. She gave me a Brazilian wax instead of a bikini & she didn't wax the entire front of both legs & knees. She told me when I called to come in & she would take care of it, but why didn't she do it right the first time? I was naked, freezing laying on the bed and she was complaining how hot it was & how much her back hurt.
When you go to a nail salon, the experience is entirely designed to make you feel relaxed and pampered, as if you've been transported to a tranquil oasis
There's no denying that balayage is having a moment. This modern hair coloring technique has taken the beauty world by storm, and it's easy to see why. Balayage is a French word meaning "to sweep" or "to paint", and that's exactly what the colorist does.
