American Beauty Academy in West Valley City, UT

This place is great as long as you know what you are agreeing too. I've been here three times now for three different things (eyebrow wax, pedicure, haircut). The people are REALLY nice and the place is clean and looks very professional.

Results may vary depending on what you do and who you get. My wax and haircut were great, my pedicure was pretty good in terms of feet pampering but the worst polish application I've ever seen, including what I do myself (which is bad). I just had to laugh. The girl was so sweet and the price was right, and I got my callouses scrapped off so at the end of the day for the price I couldn't be upset. I was happy to give her a chance to practice, even if I took the polish off as soon as I got home.

Just know going in to have a little lower standards and not to be too picky and I think you'll be happy! The prices are amazing and the people are all wonderful.

The students were OK - The teacher who supposed to "review" the students work was obnoxious. I gave feedback about "they need light" in the waxing room, the obnoxious teacher respond "oh this must be your first time blah blah blah" ... LOL Excuse Moi !!! .. I am 40 .. do u really think it was my 1st time waxing ... I still like the place but that obnoxious teacher need to go away - go open ur own salon! so I don't have to see u at that place.

I'm used to going to salons that charge a minimum of $120 for cut & color, only to leave disappointed with the end result. I found this place on Groupon and decided to (nervously) give it a shot. My stylist was Natalie and she was friendly. She listened to everything I said that I wanted done to my hair, wrote it all down, and then talked her plan over with her instructor. *Let me note here that my hair was probably 4 or 5 different shades with gray roots to boot, so they had their work cut out for them.* Natalie got me back to one warm, even color and then gave me one of the best cuts I've had in years! When she was done, her instructor came over again, looked at the color, made sure the cut was even, and asked me if it looked okay. It was better than okay--I loved it!!! I am beyond thrilled with this outcome. I will definitely be going back and asking for Natalie!!!

American Beauty Academy is a great place to go to school or get a hair service done. Their prices can't be beat for what you get. The teachers are very helpful to the students and make sure each client leaves happy. I get my hair colored here and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I've had nothing but AMAZING experiences at American Beauty Academy!  I must admit, my first visit to the Academy was due to my friend, Ravin, starting her future in barbering.  She's freaking amazing!  I walked in and said let's do something different, and I was extremely pleased with the result!  That's why I keep going back!  She's very detail oriented, professional, and I trust her artistic view with my hair.  I also want to note that the several times I've been there, the front desk has been nothing but kind!  The teachers that assist the students have also been nothing but nice, and I appreciate their attitude towards teaching certain techniques, and tips to the students.  I wont lie, I enjoy a cheap hair-cut, but I'm most happy of watching my friends confidence build up and make me look pretty!
