Ambushed Salon Gahanna in Gahanna, OH

I went here for the first time yesterday and was with Ester. She was so friendly and I had so much fun! She made my vision come to life! I had never been to a curly salon before, and it was a new experience and I will def be coming back to her!

I went in this salon around the end of August, I never had gotten my hair colored before professionally so I was nervous but Cobi for sure made me love my experience. I love my new hair color honestly, everywhere and anywhere I go I'm always no matter getting a compliment on my curls and the color. Definitely coming back. (Asked for a ginger brown with no bleach)

Avoid Sifen at all costs. For an $81 haircut she DOES NOT LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER. Worst hair trim I've experienced in 62 years. She cut 1/2in at most and it was to be a haircut post 3 months since a before surgery haircut. She did not listen to a single bit of my concerns as she trimmed. I pointed out areas that poked out - she refused to correct them. Owner is out which is perfectly understandable but if Sifen was trained, I can't for the life of me see how. Amy is better than that. Such a sad reflection on a typically wonderful salon. Save your money and wait til Amy is back running her salon and DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS STYLIST. I'm going to repay and have to have it fixed by another salon.

Upon looking at other reviews I see Ester had done the same uneven and unsatisfactory cut on another girl. Uneven messy and left horribly styled with 'noodles for hair' ) This salon RUINED my hair. And had no sympathy or solutions for me when I asked. This was my first appointment with a curly specific hair salon and I can't believe the lack of professionalism or even consideration for someone new to the process. Ester was the specialist I booked with, I let her know upon entering it was my first time and I just knew I wanted some layers in my hair and a little face framing but no length. We repeated the 'no length' bit multiple times. During the appointment I said things like 'Oh it looks interesting' and 'My hair looks like it's in all different directions' as she's styling it because I was wary about how my curls weren't curling. Which I told the owner as well because she told me I needed to communicate. She brushed it off and had me try and part my hair and do it how I usually would and then continued. My curls weren't forming so by the end she sprayed a wax spray and tried twirling my hair to add some. I left and was talking to my sisters showing them my hair and asking if I was justified in worrying and only further confirmed I was when I was my hair and tried to do my routine and my hair just fell flat. After reaching out to the salon explaining the situation I was greeted by the owner pretty much telling me I was in the wrong for not voicing I didn't like the end result immediately before I left and that I should've 'found inspiration pictures closer to my actual hair' after explaining I showed some and then what my hair usually looks like. Not any sympathizing with the fact that it was my first time and I voiced 'no length and just some layers and face framing multiple times. Then told me I needed to come there and let her 'fix it' as if you can magically grow all the hair I lost back. She even told me that the style curls I had would no longer curl when cut short? Yet insisted on my coming back to the salon after contradicting herself saying my hair wouldn't curl. She wouldn't refund me or treat me with an ounce of respect over the matter. You'd think after crying for over a week now over the loss of my curls when my hair takes so unbelievably long to grow back, that the place would have some respect for clients. I even explained I live 40 minutes away and we've been in terrible weather AND it's the holidays so I don't know how she expects me to come back and to which I got no response. Extremely unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone.

Amy Bush at Ambushed Salon has been cutting my curls for 10 years. She is superbly good with curly hair!!! Very highly recommend the stylists at Ambushed; they're mentored by Amy.
