Last year I had fairly good experience but apparently they can't even dry the nail polish the use for pedicures. I spent $60 today and all the polish came right off. When I complained about it they said only gel polish will last. What does that even mean? Other salons use fans or special lights. Save your money and go somewhere that you can feel good about.

I live in NYC but came here once for a pedicure and it was fine. So visiting and needed a manicure for a man with a buff. OMG. My nails looked better when I got there. While the woman was nice she took all of 10 mins to do my nails. They were all cut and filed to different sizes and angles and after telling her three times to cut my cuticles back I gave up. The buff was two or three strokes per nail and the fact she filed the tops they were still duller than when I arrived. And then they charged me 30, again, for a men's manicure. I politely paid and left tip even as I am a nice guy. And then went home and fixed them the best I could. I NEVER write reviews but I had to this time. If you go here you're crazy!

Very Unprofessional , Disrespectful , Rude and very Bad vibe overall at this place.  Wish there's a 0/5 star rating .  Anyway, I brought my 84 y/o handicapped mom, myself, my daughter and 5 y/o granddaughter to redeem gift certificates for pedicures that I bought for a relaxing girls spa day out for Christmas gifts .  On 12/29, We walked in nail shop and At this point, I noticed a very uncomfortable vibe right off the bat.  A older male nail tech/owner asked what we wanted, in a bothered tone of voice, in which I told him politely we would like 4 pedicures and he told us to pick out a color.  They were exceptionally busy this day being post holidays and I was at this point pondering about leaving and coming back the next day in which I talked to my daughter about and we both agreed that would be better.  I went to place my nail polish back up and it accidentally fell to ground and shattered open on floor.  I was of  course quite embarrassed, but I did inform the elderly nail tech/owner that there was a spill of nail polish on the floor with shattered glass on floor and I profusely apologized.  He did not acknowledge my apology or my request for assistance for a couple of minutes as I stand there in middle of polish and glass on floor, but rather he started speaking Asian to one of other nail techs in a very upset tone of voice.  He finally huffs/puffs out of his chair, grabs a towel, & acetone, & starts cleaning the mess up. I then politely asks him when he gets a chance if he has anything i could wipe the polish off my shoe with. He interrupted me and said No ‍unusual  rude, response but okay? (The next day we found out he apparently misunderstood me, & thought i asked HIM to wipe my shoe.‍ in which I clarified that was not what I was asking him to do)
To continue the story ....I could tell he was very upset by his body language, and huffing/puffing as he was cleaning floor and then he stopped cleaning up the nail polish all the sudden and he noticed my 5 yo granddaughter, whom had nail polish in her hand she picked out and he rushed over and rudely took it out of her hand and said she didn't need to hold that because it was a gel nail polish bottle. We were then told to go sit down on one of the pedicure chairs.  Clearly there was Too much bad vibes/energy that I didn't want to be any more a part of nor subject my family to.  Clearly the guy is put out. At this point, we are extremely uncomfortable, embarrassed, & would rather just come another time. So, we tell him we are just gonna come the next day. At that point, he throws the towel down in another huff, & walks back over to his work station. Y'all, ....Just extremely unprofessional, & uncalled for so we left.
After, discussing the incident with my family, we all decided that we did not want to do business with them .
So the next day I called up there to let them know I would be coming back up to the shop to get a refund on my gift certificates that were Not utilized in amount of $110.  Upon arrival i told by the same older mail tech I was here to receive a refund for my gift certificates and he then informed me that they don't refund gift certificates. I then reminded him of who I was from the day before and he said he remembered the incident and exclaimed he actually was "upset because he had to clean up mess" and then said "but I didn't cuss you out".  I reminded him he treated us very rudely, disrespectful and very unprofessional.  He didn't have to cuss me out...It was embarrassing the way he treated us .  In any case I informed him that we are not going to do business with them because of unprofessionalism and he continued to interrupt to say that he would not refund the gift certificates regardless.  I told him there were no statements on the gift certificate that said nonrefundable, nor was I verbally informed when I bought the gift certificates that they were nonrefundable .  He then told me he didn't care, and he even instructed me and my family to go write "bad" reviews on his business. Weird... but ok ‍ So here we are writing a honest review folks.
Always remember, Kindness matters.  Forgiving him, and forgiving myself for the way I feel about this unfortunate interaction.
Please do yourself a big favor and do not go to this place. There is another nail shop south of this place called Gallery Nail Spa  that has a much more relaxing, positive vibe.  The Gallery nail Spa, was so very welcoming and kind and even gave us thank you gifts .

First of all, myself, my mother, grandmother, & my friends have been coming here for years. Always had a great experience until recently. Myself, my mother, grandmother, & my daughter all went to go redeem our gift cards that my mother got for us for Christmas yesterday, & right off the bat the vibes were trash. They were busy, so we just chocked it up to that. No biggie, we can understand the holiday stress. After all, we have been loyal to this nail spa for years. They told us to pick colors for our pedicures while we waited. While we were browsing colors my mother accidentally dropped a purple nail polish on the ground, & it shattered. She told the owner who was working right behind her what had happened, apologized, & asked if they had anything to clean it up with. He didn't even acknowledge her apology, or embarrassment. He huffs out of his chair, grabs a towel, & acetone, & starts cleaning the mess up. Again, this dude is huffing, & puffing. Trash energy again. My mother then asks him when he gets a chance if he has anything SHE could wipe the polish off her shoe with. He tells her no. Weird, but okay? We later find out he apparently misunderstood her, & thought she asked HIM to wipe her shoe. LOL. My mother would never ask another human being to wipe her own shoe. He should know this since he's been doing her nails for so long, & knows her sweet demeanor. Anyways,  while he is cleaning, he notices that my 5 year old daughter has the nail polish she picked out in her hands, & demands she give it to him. So she hands it back to him, confused. Clearly the guy is put out. At this point, we are extremely uncomfortable, embarrassed, & would rather just come another time. So, we tell him we are just gonna come the next day. At that, he throws the towel down in another huff, & walks back over to his work station. Just extremely unprofessional, & uncalled for. We have been loyal to this nail salon, & have recommended many people to it, & to be treated this way is such a shock. We decided we would not be returning to this nail salon, & immediately took our business down to the Gallery Nail Spa which is not even 2 minutes down the road, & we were treated like absolute royalty the minute we stepped through the doors. ThThey were so sweet to my baby girl, & even gave us some gifts after getting services done.

We tried to call Aloha Nail Spa to get a refund for the unused gift cards in lieu of the whole situation to which more attitude was thrown our way along with the refusal to refund the unused gift cards. Mind you, no where on their gift cards does it say it's not refundable. Nowhere in their place of business does it say they do not refund. Yet, he still refused to refund it. Completely unprofessional, & shameful. So, here we are! Proceed with caution, OR

TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO GALLERY NAIL SPA! You will not regret it! Even when they are busy, they still treat you right!
