Alise & Co. Salon in Gulf Shores, AL

I had no intention of writing a review for this salon until the extreme disrespect I just received from the owner after asking for a refund. I came into the salon last month for a routine cut and highlight. While at the appointment, I had a very nice time with my stylist. She was very sociable and made my appointment comfortable - despite being 6 hours long which is not standard. I paid, tipped, and left thinking all was fine - aside from bleach stains to my clothes from the application (but this was the least of my troubles). In the hours after the appointment I had a friend take a look at my sore scalp. It was covered in chemical burns. My hair also then started to fall out in chunks and break off in the days/weeks after the appointment.

The salon blamed this on an "allergic reaction." I don't know of any allergic reaction that causes chemical burns or chemical cuts (hair breaking off mid-shaft due to bleach damage). I asked them about what brand products they use, and it was a brand I've used many times without issue. After quite a bit of back and forth, I finally received a call from the owner today. I have NEVER in my life been spoken to in such a rude and sarcastic manner by a business owner. Extreme attitude, refusal to apologize or own up to the salons mistakes. I noted the chemical burns, the visible damage to the health of my hair, and that there were permanent bleach stains on my clothes from the highlight application. She acted as if it was crazy to expect a full refund back and asked how I could be disappointed if I paid and tipped. In case you're wondering the same thing - I cant see my own scalp in the salon mirror and much of the hair loss happened in the following days/weeks. After finally negotiating a refund, she hung up on me. I believe I only received a refund because I mentioned I could get a personal injury lawyer due to the chemical burns. I realize this is ridiculous - but I was getting no where.

I now have a very expensive and time-consuming journey ahead of me to regain the health of my hair and scalp. In the last month, I've spent $500 and counting in additional hair cuts, treatments, and products in an attempt to mitigate the damage.  If you come here and receive broken, oozing, sores to your scalp - go straight to a doctor and don't expect a refund!

Kaitlyn did a great job with smudging my roots and blending multiple colors.  Highly recommend for color!

If you value your time, go elsewhere. Right when I was about to leave my house for my 6th appointment with the owner, Kenleigh, they called to say the first client who was late had now taken my later slot. That's no way to do business by rewarding people for being late, and disrespectful of those who know how to be on time. Will be looking for a more mature stylist. Too bad because I actually liked her and how she did my hair.

Blake was my stylist and did a wonderful job. He listened to my concerns and didn't make me feel rushed. All the other stylists were friendly and helpful too. I would definitely recommend this salon!

I've been going to Emily for over a year now! She's amazing. Great with my extensions, color and lashes!
