I went in to have my hair colored for the first time ever!  Tara helped me figure out what I would be happy with, and was she right!  I get compliments from strangers asking me where it was done.  I will always go back to Tara to have my hair colored and cut.  So glad to finally find someone I am happy with!

I purchased a few groupons for this place, and had never been before.  When my bach. party came around I thought oh how fun we can all go.  We did make the appointments fairly close to the date, but I had told them it was for my party, and they never mentioned they had VERY LIMITED availability, so it ended up being the 4 of us who I had scheduled appointments for.  The services were below average and their waiting area is in the middle of the salon, kind of odd.  But none of this was a deal breaker for me.  This older woman (I assume the owner) kept telling me that she could not, absolutely could not do my sisters nails because they were too short.  I said all I want is for her to have the gel polish, but you brush it on just like anything else (that's what my nail lady had told me when I asked) and she said NO NO NO and I asked why she said it would chip off and I said well isn't that my choice whether I care or not, I want her to have the gel nails.  So reluctantly she agreed to do it and I found out why when I left.  My maid of honor was in the room with my sister when she over heard the women say something along the lines of not wanting to do services with a retard...and since my 16 year old sister has down syndrome she apparently is not worthy of this woman's time.  This broke my heart and I wish someone would have told me this to my face because this woman would have gotten an earful.  I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND EVERYONE THAT I HAVE AND I WILL RUN INTO WILL HEAR ABOUT MY REVIEW.

AWFUL. I went here because I bought a Groupon for a facial. When I called to make the appointment the person was nice enough, but could not seem to make the appointment and said someone would call me back. It was a few days before they called back, annoying. They did get me in, and the lady who did my facial was nice enough, but it was not relaxing at all. The room where they do facials is just part of one big room that they partitioned off, which does not help in any way to block sound. I could hear people chatting, phones ringing, and other employees talking about their lunch/weekend plans/complaining about working. Also, when she had a mask drying on my face she just left the room. I had a facial at the much superior Gervais and when my mask was drying she gave me a hand and foot massage. I think a facial done at home by my 5 year old would have been more relaxing. Don't go to this place!!!

~WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED~
I would never recommend this place to anyone ever!

Where to start...
I bought a Groupon deal for a mani/pedi for myself and a friend.  We were slacking and waited until a couple weeks before the expiration date to make the appointment.  When I did call, I was told by the owner that she couldn't schedule 2 people at the same time because she was the only one who could give mani/pedis.  She asked me to call back next week since she was most likely hiring someone new.  I called back the following week and left a message with the receptionist (who was very nice btw) telling her I wanted to schedule my appointment for my friend and me.  Two more phone calls later (the 4th call total) I finally spoke with someone again (the owner I'm pretty sure - although she denied it) who was able to get us in about 2 weeks after the expiration date of my Groupon deal.  I thought it was nice that she honored the deal even past the date.  She asked me to give her the redemption code from the Groupon since she needed to turn them in and I was coming after they expired.  I gave them to her and clicked "redeemed" on Groupon's website.

Appointment time...
My friend and I walked in the door and were greeted nicely by the receptionist.  She looked confused and the only other employee there, the owner - who was giving a pedi to a quiet older woman, immediately snapped at us and said something about not doing 2 pedicures.  I said that was odd because it took me four phone calls to get the appointment scheduled and I'm pretty sure I had spoken with her about it.  The receptionist tried looking around in the appointment book and calling the one other employee, but couldn't figure anything out to help.  Meanwhile, the owner repeatedly kept snapping at us saying they wouldn't have scheduled it.  She was so rude, I told her that I felt her tone was inappropriate and there was no reason for her to be talking to me as she was.  You would have had to be there to believe how intense she was!  I said I didn't want her to do my pedi anyway and it'd be great if I could get a refund.  She shouted back some terrible stuff about Groupon and said I'd have to go through them...reasonable since that is the policy.  I stayed for a couple minutes hoping that someone would at least  acknowledge that they HAD scheduled the appointment for the two of us, but no one did.  I told the owner that I had never "yelped" before but I was going to sign up just to say something about this terrible experience.  She snidely laughed and said "no one reads reviews anyway...go ahead."  If even 1 person reads this review at some point ever, I will be so happy!
Side note:  I felt horrible for the older woman trying to get her toes done during the fiasco.  I hope the owner gave her a discount for sitting through the commotion!  I apologized to her and thanked the receptionist for being very nice.

Then I called Groupon...
I told them this story.  I really figured they'd not refund me and I'd be out the money since the Groupon deal had expired 2 weeks previously, the salon had already sent in my Groupon codes, and I'd clicked the deal "redeemed" on Groupon's website.  The guy on the phone didn't ask many questions, just listened and took notes.  He talked with his supervisor, came back and told me this was interesting because the owner had called before me and told the complete opposite story and warned that I might call!  To my surprise, they compared phone calls, believed my story, and did give me a refund...Yay Groupon!  I will definitely keep supporting Groupon but I will never step foot in A New You Salon & Spa again!
