Definitely was a great first time experience! The ambiance of the place was very modern and nice. And the hospitality was great! The team were very welcoming and so kind. 10/10. I got my hair done by Amy, and she was awesome! From having virgin black hair and dying it to ash blonde dimensional balayage in one sitting was truly extraordinary. It did take 7 hours due to my hair being long and thick. But was well worth it. She took great care of my hair and was very considerate. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend this salon especially with those who have dark Asian hair looking to achieve that perfect ashy blonde. The stylists are always so welcoming and very professional. I always book my appointments with Jenny Cai and she does an amazing job every time. She is the best stylist to have ever worked with my hair. Jenny is so patient and has great attention to detail. She was able to take my natural dark brown hair to ashy blonde while making my hair still look and feel healthy. Jenny always takes the time to understand what look I am trying to achieve and educates on how to maintain my hair color and health. I always leave the salon so refreshed and impressed. I will continue to come back!

I rely on Yelp a lot to find new places to try and was excited to find a hair salon with high reviews. Did my research online (Yelp and IG for photos and reviews) and finally made the leap to schedule an appt to get my hair cut. I had hair to my waist and sample pictures of a short shoulder length style I was ready to go for. I rarely get my hair cut so this is a big deal and one I don't take lightly. Sure my hair will grow back if i end up hating it but I'm obviously picking a salon with this experience and price point to get an end result that I love. Luckily this place has 2 locations with many stylists of different experience and specialities that i get to choose from which should make this easier. Naturally i book an appt with a stylist in the higher price point because I'm trying to make sure my hair cut is as good as it can be. I book an appt in Bellevue at least 2 weeks out and on the day of, the stylist texts me saying that they're cancelling my appt 2 hrs before my scheduled time because she's running late and won't have time for my cut. Slight sour taste in my mouth but ok, I'll go to the Renton location with a new stylist because the salon still has overall good reviews and by this point i was ready and excited for a new hairstyle. Made an appt with another stylist and got a text from them almost immediately asking if I can change my appt time on that day. Now I'm wondering what kind of ethics this place has because why are you offering times and services your stylists can't fulfill? Told them that I can cancel if the date and time didn't work and they said it was ok. Came in and showed the stylist what I was looking for and she took a good 30 min showing me hair styles completely different than what I had come in with to finally cut my hair kind of how I wanted it. What I wanted was shoulder length hair with bangs and she cut it past my shoulders and no bangs because she didn't want me to have to adjust to short hair AND bangs and because she said the bangs I wanted weren't in season anymore. When she checked me out, she added an extra $15 to my bill for what I assume is consultation which was unsolicited when I came in. High chance of not coming back in after this experience and pricing. found out a friend made an appt here and told her my experience and she had something similar where her stylist tried changing her appt as well. This place gets 2 stars for not completely botching my hair but nothing higher for my overall experience.

Hands down best hair salon I ever been to! Jenny C. always takes care of me and my hair needs. She's very detail oriented and attentive to what style I want. I never feel rushed in any of my appointments with her and will continue to come back!!

UPDATE: I was contacted by the salon about a week after my original post saying that the person I saw was Mya, not Kayla. This has me even more confused since I was never given that name in my scheduling confirmations (and the stylist never actually told me her name during the applintment.) I also don't see her listed on the website (I'm assuming she must be new). This whole encounter has left me thinking I might just be better off finding a new salon. ORIGINAL POST: I've been here a number of times before and usually had positive results but this last time was different. I was rescheduled last minute with Kayla who I don't think I'd had before. I arrived at my appointment right on time and sat in the waiting area for 15 minutes, expecting that maybe she was running over with one of her clients but no one had said a word to me about it. I was thinking about just leaving when I see someone come in the door in a rushed manner, drop off her stuff at a station and then came to get me. We went directly to the wash station first, my bag and glasses sitting in my lap and not dropped off at the station, and she started asking if I was in for a cut while she was already washing. Didn't even take the time to look at my hair before it was wet. I told her I was looking for something different with the bangs and to do something with the bulk at the ends of my hair, I was fine with the length. I also told her I had heavy, wavy hair since I figured that'd be important and she hadn't taken the time to look at it. We didn't do a lot of talking, which was fine since I have a shoulder injury I'm dealing with and it causes pain sometimes to move my neck. I was just trying to ease myself into my stiff neck at the sink. Washing was finished and we went to our booth. She then asked for a picture of what I wanted. I said I didn't have a picture. She gave me a little bit of an annoyed look and went to her phone, did a generic search and "said here, pick one." None of these where what I was wanting for my bangs (looked like a bunch of mom and Rachel cuts to me) but I picked one anyway hoping the bangs would at least be along the right track. She noticed the layers in the hair and said you like layers? I said my hair sits heavy, so layers would probably work (I was thinking they'd be layers at the bottom of my hair). I told her straight cuts sit funny with my hair. We cut and dried my hair. She commented "oh, you have wavy hair" like it was a surprise. She apparently didn't listen when I told her at the wash station. She recommended I try out some highlights to blend with my greys and a Brazilian blowout to smooth my frizzy hair because "don't I want to look pretty sometimes for my zoom meetings". I happen to like my greys and didn't care for the other comment. I don't think she put in heat protectant and I was even more offput when she put the flat iron on high and I could smell my hair burning. I know it was hot because she burnt me twice with the iron (once on my neck and the second clipping my ear.) The first time, she credited it to the hair being hot on my neck. The second time, she blew on my head, like that would help. No apologies or adjustments after each time. I was sweating and tense by the end of that. I was also still trying my best to manage my neck pain and frequently got moved around with quick shoves of my head. I tried to ease into them the best I could. Occasionally I'd be told to tilt my head down more, which I had difficulty doing. I'm just glad she didn't put extra pressure on that one. In the end, I ended up with probably 1 - 1.5 inches off the bottom and a lot of short layers that I'll have to grow out. My plan was more to grow out my hair and just clean it up. We still had to shorten the bangs since she'd kept them long, which was what I told her at the beginning that I didn't want. The experience was awkward (the only convo we had was her commenting on the nice weather before burning my ear. Then silence again.) and I'm hoping this isn't her usual treatment. Maybe her head was in a weird place with having to run in the door 15 minutes late and felt rushed, but for the price I paid, I'd expected better. I might be back, but I'll be requesting someone else.
