1st Nails Jonesville in Newberry, FL

I've been going to the owner for many years and after today apparently it was news to me that she removed me from her schedule. The last time I came into the salon to get my nails done, the owner Jessi had someone in the chair and was doing their nails. The lady was not wearing a mask and coughed very loud and long. When I was next person to go sit in the chair after the lady, I was worried that perhaps the lady may have coughed on the chair and/or openly so to not complain about it or make a huge scene, I asked Jessi if I could switch the chairs(there was a chair next to the chair the previous lady sat in) Jessi said yes. After I sat in the new chair, Jessi the owner was upset, she didn't talk to me like she normally does, very short when she did and she made me feel very uncomfortable. I followed up by text explaining to her how I felt and letting her know I wanted to protect myself and keep safe so I asked about switching chairs; no reply back. Today, was my 2 week nail appt; I sent her a text but no response(just to let her know I was outside and to text me when she was ready for me which is something I have done in the past) 15 mins rolls by and so I called the salon, she informs me that she left her phone at off and from the last message I sent her, she removed me from her books. She follows up to say that she is working with a customer and unable to talk. I was very shocked because I was a regular for many years(5 to be exact) and for someone to remove me for trying to keep safe was pretty ridiculous. To be honest(pre-covid and even now), I have never seen Jessi or her employees, clean the tools they use on their customers or wipe down chairs and yes I continued to go there because I had been going to her for many years; although those things concerned me, I tried my best to remain safe as possible. She also has signs saying no food or drink and to wash your hands before getting serviced and wear your mask at all times but the rules have never been enforced and I always questioned it. The owner does great work but her customer service, safety and care for people is not the best. It seems as though once she reopened back up post covid she cares more about money versus having a solid clientele. I'm very disappointed.

They're pretty good - small salon but they always do their best to fit you in. They do a good job, although if you get one of the male techs they can be a bit rough at times. I like to support small local businesses and they've been doing my mom and friends' nails for years. Recommend.

I wanted to go to Orchid across the street but they were booked out for the upcoming three hours. I Yelp'd this place but the name was wrong - it's 1st Nails. I'm guessing either all y'all want to keep this place on the downlow or no one uses Yelp out there because they are fantastic! The places was packed when I went in but they got me in a chair quick. I got the oil massage pedicure and then a unicorn gel manicure. I get these high-style manicures quite a bit in California and it's usually just an extra $5 - it's an extra $15 here!! But they did a fantastic job of trimming and clearing my cuticles and my pedicure looks dynamite, too. Go here. It's fantastic!
