1581 Salon and Barber in Hercules, CA

Jen is my girl. I trust everything to her. I go there with a slight idea and tell her. She tells me what she thinks and I let her do her thing! I always leave soul-fulfilled with our lively convos and at the same time, looking like I should be going out cuz my hair looks so good!

I hired Ariel to do my hair and my bridesmaids hair for a wedding and she did not disappoint. I just told her things I didn't want and gave her creative liberty and I got so many compliments and couldn't stop looking at my hair all night! She's so amazing! It even stayed put after dancing all night AND going out afterwards. Highly recommend! If I could give her 10/5 I would! Do yourself a favor and get your hair done by Ariel!

Out this way and if you are too and need a cut, then this is the place to hit up! The place has a nice ambiance with relaxing smooth jazz in the background and smiling faces. Indeed, a welcoming establishment. I booked with Ryan via Booksy for the 1st time and I wish I found him sooner! He asked me what I wanted and he did exactly that which was a texture crop. The cut is IMPECCABLE. When leaving, I was looking and feeling I'm ready to conquer the world! His consultation was on point and he did his shear work with finesse. I had booked an appointment for Today at 5pm but was skipped over and forgotten. It is weird because I have gotten my haircut before and it was with same person, Lorran. I was happy enough to book again but this time, it was different. I walk in at 5pm and see someone else sitting in chair as Lorrans begins to give them a haircut, I am then greeted by the barber closest to the door. He asks me if I made appointment and I tell him that I had with Lorran. This barber then assures me Lorran will be with me shortly and to take a seat. 40 mins goes by and when I look again someone else jumps into his chair. I was not going to wait for another person to get a haircut when I was supposed to have appointment 40 mins before. The worst part, he didn't even check or bother to let me know if he was running behind or anything. The other dude knew I was there waiting too, I made eye contact with him several times. I was going to get up and ask why was I being skipped but decided to leave because why would I deal with that level of professionalism. 1581 "Salon", is just another one of those basic barbershops, Empire Barbershop on other hand was a whole other experience. I was in hurry to find someone to cut my hair, and Empire Barbershop immediately welcomed me with open arms. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by Fernando who checks to see if they have walk ins available. Everyone else also was friendly and welcomed me in.The main difference is the customer service and 1581 salon lacks that heavily!

Alex gave me the best haircut of my life! Felt like a movie star when I left the barbershop! Definitely ask for Alex.
