I have been going to Shannon for years as she is the only person who can transform my short fine wispy curly brown hair to Barbie hair. She's the absolute best for color, cuts and extensions, super friendly, professional and gives the best shampoo scalp massages.

Shannon is absolutely amazing, and everyone at the salon is so amazing and kind! I have been going to her for about a year and every time she absolutely kills it! 10/10 would recommend

I put off writing this but my experience was a little strange here. I was bleaching my hair at home for years, it was one color allover and I was bored of the same look and wanted to try something new. I wanted to add highlights or dimension and didn't want to take the risk of doing the process myself. I'm not a professional and I had some problems that needed to be fixed, including banding and toning so I would have had to have a color correction first. I also had some breakage and dryness, which got worse after moving to Tahoe. Part of why I wanted to go to a salon was because I wanted recommendations for the color tone and highlight technique. The tone I already had was faded, but when coloring/toning at home it is hard to choose a shade that is flattering for the skin tone and it's hard to know what it will look like on the actual hair, since box photos are the only reference. In the past I struggled with colors that didn't match my undertone and there is the issue of timing and developer which influences the final result. And because my hair wasn't in the best condition I didn't want to just show some random picture without knowing if it was attainable or not. I knew I wanted dimension but I also wanted a recommendation from a professional for the technique since there are so many of them. Honestly not being a professional it's hard to look at photos of highlight techniques and see the difference between a lot of them. I looked at photos of highlights I liked which I showed the hairdresser and I knew I wanted my blonde to be corrected with a toner. I had a consultation and scheduled an appointment for a color correction, which would be three weeks later. I gave them my credit card which they charge for no-shows and cancellations. The week before my appointment I wanted to double check the time, but when I looked at my texts, emails, and Vagaro account, I could not find a reminder. So I called the salon to check. The receptionist said there was no record of my appointment. I had already scheduled this with my work, and requests have to be made two weeks in advance so at this point it was too late to make another. If I hadn't double checked in the first place, I would have taken time off work and shown up for an appointment that didn't exist. I asked if my appointment was cancelled but she said it was probably just a mistake. She booked a different appointment for me, which was supposed to be the day before the original one. But after some consideration, I cancelled the second appointment on Vagaro. I already had some regrowth during the consultation but the appointment wasn't supposed to be too far off from the normal touch up time frame. But I do remember the hairdresser saying the original appointment was the first one she had available, and she would let me know if anything sooner came up due to cancellations. But she didn't, which made me wonder if the new appointment allowed enough time for the process, which could be 3-4 hours. I also wondered if she decided to cancel it, I'm not entirely sure. I didn't want to show up again just to realize the appointment wasn't possible or I wasn't welcome there in general. I also would have had to leave work early if I was on the schedule. I understand the penalties for no-shows and cancellations and rules clients have to follow but in this case the same standards don't seem to be held for the salon. And no, I didn't expect them to move or cancel another appointment for me, I get that it's a lose-lose situation either way. I was willing to pay extra for the convenience of the service being local but I ended up going to a different salon in Reno.

I'm so happy I went in when I did, I went to a different salon that fried and made my hair so brassy. Thankful that Sonja is a color correction wizard and fixed me up, she's wonderful!!!

Visited twice & won't be going back a 3rd time.
