Ulta Beauty in Martinsburg, WV

I got my eyebrows done today at Ulta in Martinsburg on 316 Retail Commons Pkwy.  Kristie at the brow bar was great!  She was very professional and friendly. She was extremely precise when working on my eyebrows which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend her to a friend or family member looking for a local brow or lash service.

I truly don't know whether to give this place a good rating or poor. Because of their complete inability to retain talent, I've opted for the latter. Every time I've gone to get a service, it's been great. I go back to the same girl another 2 or 3 times... then she's gone. This has happened FIVE TIMES already. The last stylist actually told me she was leaving and where she was going, and explained that they don't treat the stylists well or pay well and have mismanagement. Not sure of details and didn't pry. But it's really sad that I can't find a single person who stays. The haircuts are a little pricier than those in the area... not too bad. And the stylists haven't disappointed me. Just don't get attached. They won't be there long.

To say that I was disappointed at my recent trip and 2 prior trips is an understatement.

I entered the store and head towards the makeup section. The one employee that was there did not even acknowledge my presence. I needed to find a specific shade of Urban Decay Naked foundation and I was forced to go looking for someone to help me. I ended up going to the cashier. I asked for a sample of makeup to try before I bought it. (Besides, who wants to spend $45 on a so called matte long lasting foundation when it only stays matte for an hr)
She explained that they do not give samples because the corporate office did not provide them with containers for samples.. Seriously???
I wouldn't dare ask any of the ladies there to do a color match because they all seem to be color blind as to what works well for  "Women of Color" with various undertones that wouldnt make them look ashy, orange or taupe.
Would i return? Not a chance. I'd prefer to get professional help from the ladies at Sephora in MoCo mall

I'm in the middle of the road in my feelings towards this Ulta Beauty store.

Here are some good things:

Their selection is very diverse and I can always find my favorite hair care products while browsing new and exciting make-up and skin products that I've never seen before. I've made some pretty large purchases here since they opened so I have their rewards card. Every time I go it seems like I have more points to use and save money on my purchases, which is a perk that I really like. They also give tons of coupons in the newspaper and the mail so I always stack those up and use them. I've had one microdermabrasion done by their esthetician and she was very personable and funny and honestly made the whole experience wonderful. It seems like they have a good thing going with their hair salon too because it's always busy. I've been considering going there for my next hair cut and color.

Some not so good things:

On some occasions I've noticed that their employees are almost too friendly and seem to follow you around. I'm not sure if it's just pure friendliness, where they want to make sure you are finding what you need, or if they are monitoring people. I've noticed this recently and wondered if maybe they have had an increase in theft or whatnot. It just gives me an odd feeling like I'm being watched every time I go there.
