Ulta Beauty in Birmingham, AL

I had senior photos to take and decided to make a hair appointment just to get my hair styled at 2:00. I showed up 30 minutes early and no one was there to help until eventually someone came up to let me know the lady doing my hair had car troubles that morning and couldn't be there for my appointment and no one else was there to do it. She asked if I could reschedule and I kindly let her know that I couldn't because of my pictures being taken that afternoon. I understand car troubles but someone should have let me know early that morning, I got no call and no voice mail. I had to rush and find somewhere else to go as most salons were closed on Sunday's. Very disappointed with this lack of communication and service.

Love love love this Summit location! I went in today for concealer and tinted sunscreen and their staff could not be more helpful. I had a total of 4 different employees help me at some point and they were ALL awesome, attentive and so very kind. Cannot say enough good things about this location but very excited they are near ME!!

As I have mentioned in several of my other reviews, Ulta is my happy place (well... besides Target of course). I honestly prefer Ulta over Sephora.

The staff is always so friendly and always willing to help you when ever there is an issue.

Of course today, I came in here looking for one thing, and then wind up buying more then I bargained for. (But that happens a lot more frequently than you can imagine).

Anyway... I came in here today for the tree hut scrubs. They are exfoliating sugar scrubs that I use from time to time in the shower. I read up online as well as seeing it all over tik tok, that there were 2 new scents released and I wanted to see if I could get my hands on them. Unfortunately, I could not find them, but I did wind up finding two other scrubs that I haven't been able to find at the ultas and targets I have gone to so I was happy about that.

As I was looking around the store today, I saw that there was a sale on some other body products by one of the companies I have learned to love called Shea Moisture. The sign said that it was buy one get the other 40% off. So I decided to splurge a bit.

When I was at the check out line I mentioned seeing the sign and asked the lady if she had taken the amount off of my final payment. She was unsure of this deal so asked a co worker to go check it out as their was a line forming behind me and she seemed to be one of the only women working the front cash. The lady told her over the walkie that the deal had ended, but since I saw the signage before they were able to take it down they gave me the discount anyway. Now that is customer service at its finest and southern hospitality. I had already paid full price so she had to refund me some money and it went straight back onto my card right then and there (no waiting period at all).

What a wonderful experience here. I will for sure be back. The customer service is great.

I've only recently become a fan of Ulta. I was always a Sephora shopper until about last year. This new Ulta at the Summit is just so convenient for me now! It's big, bright, and beautiful. Sephora just seems crammed for me now in terms of the aisles and how many associates there are compared to Ulta. I like being able to shop in peace, but able to ask questions if I really need to. Ulta offers both high end and drugstore brands so you can decide when you're there whether you want to splurge or save. I was coming in here the other day specifically looking for a certain tinted moisturizer, but they didn't have it nor did they any substitute that was similar so that was a bummer. I would definitely still come back here though.
