The Original Dominican Beauty Salon in Gastonia, NC

Went back again recently. They have moved to 4902 wilkinson Blvd in Gastonia. I notified Yelp of the change of address but it's still not updated. I found out when I pulled up to the old location. It's only a few minutes away but I thought I save you a drive.

The new place is beautiful. I had a even better experience than last time. Beautiful cut and blow out. It's near Toyota of Gastonia. Was in and out. Love that. I hate being in the salon all day. Again one of the best blowouts ever. So many compliments and it lasts me a few weeks if I wrap my hair up at night.

im in love with this place and every one is sooo sweet! They were very gentle with my hair. No pulling. I know I will return to this salon! Bonus: the prices are great as well!

I am not the type to have my hair blown out especially at a Dominican salon due to the excessive amount of heat they apply to the hair, but I was desperate. With my mother's words screaming in my head "you are walking around here looking like a fool,"  I searched the short list of Dominican salons in the area and found this one to be the closest to my parents home.  

First impressions when I walked in the door was they need to invest in an effective exhaust system.  There was so much smoke floating around in the salon I didn't know if I was walking on the set of a Snoop Dog video or being led to my doom.  Needless to say, the salon was clean, the ladies were nice and the owner is the one who does all of the flat ironing and cutting.  The salon only as space to accommodate for four stylists. As a result, I waited for over an hour; my hair was straight; I spent $50.

Will I go back?  Maybe.  
If you are not very concerned with seeing the canister of Barbicide on each station and knowing the person blowing out your hair is not equipped to anything other than blow dry, then you should be okay.  Just focus on the big picture:  getting your hair straight and all will be well.

Had a very good experience at this salon with my mother and a friend. The services provided by Yvonne, Nedi, and Johanni were conducted in a quick and professional manner.  These ladies know exactly what they are doing, and aren't afraid of kinky hair at all! We all left looking and feeling pretty. I am very picky with my hair and have been natural for almost 10 years, and am choosey with who I let do my hair. Believe me when I say, these girls can do some hair. For around $40 for a deep conditioner and blowout, these ladies do amazing stuff with curly and kinky hair. Don't be afraid, it's no more heat than when you used to get that press and curl, except here, you don't smell like burnt grease when you leave. Ask for Johanni.

I really enjoyed my hair styling. I got a Dominican blowout with a deep condition which was only $5 more and included a steam treatment. LOVE IT! MY hair feels light, moisturizes and looks gorgeous for $30 bucks! Also MON, TUE, WEDS are free deep conditioning days I will be back!
