We moved from Chicago in 2010 and have been searching for a salon ever since ... the search is finally over!! Terry Abner's salon is the closest thing to a Chicago salon without the high prices and snotty staff. My husband and I recently discovered this gem and could not be more thrilled! My husband sees Terry, and I see Jaime; his hair has never looked better and Jaime is a Super Star! The cut and color I received from Jaime is, by far, better than what I was getting in Chicago. The entire staff is very friendly and professional. We are excited to have found them and would highly recommend you give them a try!
The quality of the stylist's is not the problem. Terry N. is an amazing hair dresser. I am not a fan of being told my appt. is at one time and after I arrive at that time...I get to hear "Oh wow, you sure are early your appt. isn't for another 30 minutes". My time is valuable too. It takes weeks to get an appt. and it's a pricier place. I don't mind paying for quality but I will not pay to have my time wasted. This has happened more than once. If you have tons of time on your hands I would recommend Abner's. If you don't have the time for a set appt., give or take 30 to 45 min., probably not your place.
I have been going to Terry Abner Salon for almost 2 years now and I actually drive to Valparaiso from Chicago just to go there every 8 weeks. They are extremely friendly and always do an amazing job even when I am not sure what I want to do with my hair. I personally see Jamie and she always pleasantly surprises me with what she comes up with.
This past month, Terry and Carrie drove to Chicago to do my hair and my bridesmaids hair for my wedding. They gave us fair prices and did an amazing job on all of us. Even with them having to drive to us we spent at least $50 less per person than we would have if we had gone with a Chicago salon. It is not often you find a salon so willing to go out of their way for their customers.
I highly recommend this Salon to anyone.
