SmartStyle Hair Salon in New Albany, IN

I asked for short straight hair and it wasn't even well done. I had many longer hairs that stood out from all the others. I will never come back my husband had to fix it a bit so that it does not look so bad

I don't get my hair done here, but I do buy products. They have really good prices on salon products and they often have sales, many of which are BOGO 50% sales. They are conveniently located inside Walmart, which means they have really good hours. I have a leave-in conditioner that I cannot live without. Whenever they do a BOGO 50% on Sexy Hair products, I stock up for months. With the exception of my friend taking me to the supply house, I can't beat these prices anywhere. (My hairdresser doesn't sell products anymore, so I'm not cheating on her.) The staff here has always been friendly and helpful. I've never waited long at check-out, even though the stylists have to stop working on their clients to run the register. If I was in need of a stylist, I wouldn't hesitate to try them out with at least a cut for starters.

My favorite part of coming here is the friendly and professional staff. I have become a regular client, I can walk in -with little to no waiting. These ladies really take care of me.

The lady with red hair (I cannot remember her name) was very sweet and professional. She gave me a lot of great tips and advice as well as a very healthy haircut!

After having gone here for nearly two years the business underwent new management after being told that my preferred stylist (the manager named Mary) was on personal leave and was to return by January of 2016 only to hear later she was no longer coming back.  

Discouraged, I went in regardless to have my haircut. The first cut I had done was of higher management - the district manager I believe. The cut was shorter than I usually got; however, I wasn't displeased by any means.

I went in again three weeks later to have it touched up by a stylist who I had never seen before (I later discovered she was a fill in due to short staffing that day). She cut it far too short and didn't get the look I desired even though I had showed her a full 360 degree view of my usual cut with pictures I had.

After this experience I decided I had better look for a new place to have my haircuts done (I knew the other employees couldn't do my cut because their previous manager was teaching them each time I came in, using me as a Guinea pig). I found a gentleman with 25+ years of experience who ended up telling me my previous haircut was a disaster and that the fill in stylist gave me a hole in my head to control my cowlick versus working with it.

A few weeks later I got in contact with my desired stylist, Mary. Now she takes care of all my hair's needs and I couldn't be happier.
