SmartStyle Ephrata is located inside the Walmart store in the town of Ephrata by US 222. I have been a customer of theirs for going on three years now. I have always received excellent care, expert advice, and an absence of the obligatory upsell of items that I don't need. No matter who it is that cuts my hair, I seem to get the cut that I need, with scissors, every time I go in; the results are always excellent. I could not write them any more highly!
Visited for the second time in a year, yesterday. When I arrived the manager was instructing someone. When I asked if I would have a long wait I was told that the young girl could help me. I spoke with the girl who told me that most of the staff left or was fired back in December. This was suppose to be the new and improved staff. I am an older person with the simplest haircut. She began to cut and was done in 5 minutes. My hair looked awful and had pieces every where . She kept blaming my hair! I asked for the managers assistance. She tried to make light of the situation, but, spent the next 15 minutes trying to fix a mess. Still it did not turn out well. It was totally uneven. There was nothing more that I could do but, pay and leave. This is the second and last disaster that I shall pay for at this place. Warning: Unless you are happy looking like a bald chicken GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Please note before the girl started my haircut the manager assured me that she was very good with lots of experience.
