Had a phenomenal cut by Carla about 2 months ago and am still getting compliments! Carla is gifted. She understands how to cut hair so that it follows your growth pattern and falls incredibly into shape with bounce and movement. I haven't had a cut this good in years, and possibly ever. The cut has been growing out beautifully. It's rare, at least for me, to genuinely be looking forward to my next appointment. Highly recommend!

Ok, I have been meaning to write a review for Carla and SLASH Salon for a long time. Having your hair cut or colored by Carla is a unique experience. Yes, you can take in a picture and she can do exactly what you show her. Yes, she will listen to you about length and style and all of it and do what you ask. HOWEVER, if you let her, she will give you the best cut of your life. I'm serious. She will sit you in her chair, look at your hairline, natural part, face shape, head shape, neck length, colics, complexion and most likely 20 other things. She can then tell you what choices you have depending on your preferences. I first went in to see her at 40 years old and learned more about my hair in those first 2 hours than I had know my entire life. She is an artist. She is amazing at what she does. Honestly, if she was boring and dull I would STILL go to her because she is the best out there. No exaggeration. None. But, she's wicked funny and has a heart of gold. The studio is in that one little section of downtown Santa Monica that is still accessible and street parking is plentiful. I have never circled the block more than once. It's got a really cool vibe and a relaxing shampoo room that is dark and soothing. I get compliments all the time on my hair and hardly ever even style it unless I'm going out. I am constantly giving out her card to friends and clients and every one who has made the change has been thrilled. Incredibly happy I was referred to her years ago.

Carla is the best! She's a technical expert and always makes gives me an amazing haircut.

Every cut and color done by Carla is 5 stars. She is precise about her craft and doesn't let you get off her chair until the cut is perfect!!! I travel over an hour to get to her as she is well worth it. She spent over an hour on my cut today and I left feeling like a star. Carla your hands are gol!!!
