Salon Dolce Vita Inc in Baton Rouge, LA

Excellent service and experience! Always friendly, quick, and attentive. The atmosphere is nice too. If you go, be sure to ask for Raymie, she is the best stylist there!

I am so thankful that I came across Salon Dolce Vita a few years ago. I have had several good stylists who have moved on for various reasons (usually relocating for family). They make impeccable notes on your color and mix that is kept in the back, and if you have a new stylist, she will work from that and make adjustments as needed. Because of their working together, I have found the magic color that I love. I currently an styled by Emma, and she is super talented and really knows what will work best. She can decode what I am saying when I am trying to describe what I want, and it comes out better than I could imagine.

As with several salons, they are always looking for the right match to work there. Currently, they have a smaller number of staff, but in the past, I've seen them have each station full and even shared. The same issue happens with front desk staff, but honestly, I am experiencing the same thing everywhere. You can leave a message or call back a little later if needed.

Finding Salon Dolce Vita was a true hair-saver!

I am new to the area, scheduled an appt 2 wks out w/ Emma for last Saturday. I was so excited to have my hair done because it had been a while and I'm picky about who cuts my curly hair. I arrive at an empty, musky smelling salon except for 1 hairdresser and her client behind a wall at the back of the room. There is no receptionist, no one else working and the hairdresser that was there and noticed me didn't bother to ask if I needed assistance. As I sit and wait 15 mins past my appt time, which was confirmed the day prior via text, I notice that I have a missed call & VM from the salon 30 mins prior to my appt. I didn't get that call because I was in the process of leaving my house to travel 25 mins for my appt. The VM is a last min cancelation by someone on behalf of the hairdresser claiming a family emergency.

I am by nature an empathetic person, however lots of scenarios ran through mind. 1) why on earth is there no one here on a Sat?? 2) was my 11am appt the only one she had that day? 3) why was I not contacted sooner? 4) based on the new trend of requiring new clients to pay a deposit and be charged for an entire service if the client cancels less than 24 hrs prior, is this salon going to offer me a free cut?

What is happening to the hairdressing industry? At 49 yo, am I THAT old school to expect to at least engage with a receptionist upon my arrival?? Is this a LA thing? I'm from VA and that is NOT how this works there.

I'm incredibly disappointed in my experience and hope that my next attempt w/ another salon is much more positive. Wish me luck!

P. S. I've attached a screenshot of an email msg I recv'd this AM about my "missed" appt. Ordinarily I don't write reviews and was going to move on from this incident until I recv'd this. How UNPROFESSIONAL to send this to a brand new client who is NOT at fault here. Best of luck w/ your business... You're going to need it.

They always do a great job on my daughters, no matter which stylist is available and able to fit them in last minute. Very convenient location and the staff is great!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Salon Dolce Vita. The customer service was excellent, the atmosphere lovely. My stylist was terrific. This is the best haircut I've ever had in my life! I highly recommend this salon!
