Salon Blu in Raleigh, NC

I paid $58 for a haircut and style by Vanessa. That does not include tip. She hacked off majority of my length on one side trying to create layers. My hair was left extremely uneven, as the right side was left almost what looks like an inch longer. I noticed when I got home as I tend to look at it better when the hairdressers eyes aren't on you. I left a message and called multiple times to only get a machine and voicemail. No one ever called me back to reschedule to fix my hair. I had a great experience with Allie, but I will not be going back after seeing Vanessa. she didn't even style my hair. She quickly ran through it with a normal hair brush and made my fine hair extremely frizzy. didn't add product or anything to it. Do not recommend Vanessa. Not sure if she is newly licensed, but she will not take time on your hair and do it correctly. Oh and my hair was nipple length, almost 2 inches longer on the right side. I only asked for a trim of max an inch cut off. Just terrible service and customer support.

Salon Blue is the best hair salon I've ever been too. I see Zoe Speake and she is AMAZING! I've never received so many compliments after a hair cut. She takes the time to listen to me and is very skilled at what she does, so my hair always turns out better than I even anticipated. Everyone I've spoken to at the salon is very kind and not pushy at all. I would highly recommend this salon (-and Zoe) if you are looking for a new place to get your hair cut or colored!

Ashley Kirschbaum is the best!
I recently relocated from Beverly Hills, I'm a blonde and have been to 3 different salons and no one could get it right.
She is fantastic, friendly and so on it! If you are blonde, there is no one else to see in Raleigh.
Her assistant Angel is lovely and attentive. I can't say enough about how talented, and superior at her craft!
If there were 10 stars, I would have given her 10! The absolute best! If you really want to look and feel great, she is your gal!!!

Convenient location, attentive and friendly staff, nice interior. I go to Lauren, and she always makes me look great. The only negative is that BC can be a beast to get *out* of, but that's not reason enough for me to find another salon. Pricing is reasonable, scheduling is easy, highly recommend!

Nice facility, but overall extremely poor service. I contacted my stylist ahead of time and sent pictures of my current hair and a photo of what I wanted to achieve. They did not deliver and despite being a color specialist I could tell she lacked experience with different types of hair and balayage.  I have very thick Asian hair which has been balayaged, and well maintained and it was obvious that she only catered to one type of hair.

Nonetheless I came out very unsatisfied and had an orange ring around the top of my head. I contacted them to fix it, and was told they could only tone out the orange ring.  Although her mistake, I had to work my schedule around hers, and pay additional money to schedule a sitter to come watch my child to get this fixed based on her availability.  At Salon Blu, when they  they mess up they only give you a partial hair dry, no blowout, so you walk out of the salon looking like a wet dog. On top of that when she "fixed" the orange ring she didn't even hand me a mirror, or take me it o the light to demonstrate the change she "fixed."  It was obvious she didn't care about doing a good job and fixing my hair, she just wanted me out of there.

So, I've learned a lesson. It doesn't matter how many Instagram followers a stylist has, or if they told a title as a Redken color specialist. They can still mess up your balayage and leave you brassy and orange.  Needless to say I had to go spend another $300 at another salon to fix this hot mess of brass left on my head.

Lastly I really hate writing people bad reviews, but considering the time and investment I made here, I want to make sure I create awareness for other people who want a quality balayage so they don't waste any time and money here and end up coming out with a brass ring around their head.
