Red Cottage Salon & Spa in Long Grove, IL

I am not a confrontational person by any means so it's taking a lot to write this. I tried this place out twice and I can say I won't be returning. I went in for a consultation and told the hairstylist I needed my roots done and my color touched up. She wouldn't bleach my roots, the first time she said she could make it lift with color, it was her first time working on my hair so it made sense, it didn't do anything, the second time I went in I booked for the roots to be bleached and the color touched up. And I walked out as if I had just slapped red all over, inside in the lighting it looked fine but outside It was way too red, but the roots were completely different and the color was uneven, the back of my hair had many light brown spots. They also had a product that was lightly sprayed on and it made my hair supper sticky, as I was trying to wash it out it matted my hair into one giant piece and I had to have people help me take it all out, we needed up disolví g it with oil. It was like someone put glue on my head

This is a quaint upscale salon in the little town of Long Grove. Easy to find with plenty of parking. The salon is super clean and has many stations for consultation, cutting, washing, styling, nails etc... I get my hair done by Eric who does a fantastic job coloring, root touch ups, cutting and styling my hair. Eric is very professional, is always on time (usually early!) and takes a true interest in developing a client relationship to exceed your expectations! I like that he is honest and candid about what will work and what won't work based on my super thick hair. He never pressures you to buy product or do a treatment that your unsure about. I live 15 miles away but prefer to go to him as he is thorough and makes sure you are satisfied. Great salon and great hair stylist-Eric!

The worst...I have had full highlights for 20 some years and so all I wanted was my base color lightened and my highlights touched up. The stylist Kari, kept stopping and helping others out in the salon which I didn't appreciate, she was almost 30 minutes late because they forgot to tell her I was there. My appt. was at 12:45 and I wasn't finished until 3:30 at a cost of $224.00. AND I didn't even get blown dry, This was the worst treatment I've had at a salon. So after I got home I started calling other salons for their prices on full highlights and they start at $105.00. I was totally upset because of everything, her being late, lack of treatment (going off helping other stylists) and then the cost was way too high. I've never paid that much for highlights, a haircut with blow dry and I didn't get any of these services except the highlights. Go elsewhere, trust me

Loved Jade. She did a great job on my deva cut. Everyone was very friendly and the price was lower than a lot of other places I looked at.

This was a waste of money. I came here for the first time for a mani/pedi. It was such a rushed job. She was done within 40 minutes. I couldn't even relax and talk to my friend, as she kept interrupting. I had better hopes. I will not be returning.
