Queen Nails in Southington, CT

i initially went in for a pedicure and acrylic set. upon sitting down for my pedicure i asked the worker NOT to touch the sides of my toenails as i have reoccurring issues with them, she continued to clip the sides and pull at them. then when i sat down for my set she asked if i wanted uv gel instead and initially i said no. eventually after her being extremely rude and pushy about it i changed my mind. when asked what shape i wanted, i said coffin, there was no statement made about an up charge, however when i went to pay she informed me the shape change was an extra $15. will not be returning, they are rude and do not work with your own needs.

Do not go here ever. Had manicurist Tina. She completely butchered my nails. Insisted on dip powder when I wanted acrylic. Extremely pushy. Too much excess of that product apparently. She cut me 4 times to the point of bleeding and was unapologetic. Tools are very dirty. No sanitation after someone is clearly bleeding. I wanted to get up and leave at that point but I was in a bind due to an out-of-state wedding in a few days.

Left fingernails sloppy and dirty and did not care to fix them when it was pointed out multiple times and I was clearly upset since I had a wedding to go to. Spoke to other employee and expressed irritation right in front of my face. Made me as a customer feel uncomfortable and awkward. Additionally no one was in the shop so she could have easily fixed it. It cost me nearly $65 for a service I never wanted in the first place. Do not waste your time or money. Service here is absolutely abominable.

Tina is now at star nails and spa on Queen st next door to walmart in southington for those looking for her!

I followed Tina here when she switched salons. She does an incredible job with my nail (acrylic with gel polish), and is gentle, because I am a big baby, having thin natural nails and delicate finger bones. The shape is outstanding, and sometimes we come up with unique designs when I am feeling adventurous. I highly recommend!

I wanted to try a new place for an eyebrow and lip wax, and this place was $14 for both so I figured I'd try it. Big mistake.

It's moderately clean.. but the wax station is just a chair against a wall right next to all the nail stations. She showed me my first eyebrow and I was impressed - it had a really great shape! She continued with the other and did my lip, but for some reason went all the way down my lip around the bottom! wtf. Anyway, once I got in my car in natural light, I could see my two eyebrows were completely different shapes and heights! The first one she showed me is great, but the 2nd one is too round compared to the other and MUCH higher up - she waxed too much from the bottom. My lip - well she put too much wax and made me bleed in one spot, and missed an area of hair in another.

Never again. Now I need to find someplace to go to try and salvage my eyebrows.
