Pure Salon in Grand Rapids, MI

I'm new to the area and was in the market for a place to get my brows done. I'm still in the market, but since I'm not a woman of extremes, I'll still give one star for every eyebrow they did an okay job on. To start, Jenna was 30 minutes late for my appointment. That isn't to say she had an appointment run over, because that happens and usually isn't the stylist's fault. Rather, she walked into the building 30 minutes after my appointment time. To her credit, I think the receptionist did her level best at approximating customer service with her sort-of apology (although it was more, "Sorry you have to wait but also the spot you booked on our website wasn't supposed to be there," than an expression of remorse). After looking at other reviews online, this appears to be a trend for them. So if you think you'll just pop in for a quick wax during your lunch break, make sure you have a very cool boss who isn't a stickler for the whole "showing up on time" thing first. I'm not sure if Jena is in training, but it sure sounded that way from how she had to be coached by a mysterious floating voice standing just off behind my head. I was not introduced to this mysterious brow waxing phantom, as her presence was never actually acknowledged to me, so I can't confirm if she was training Jenna or if she was just a spectre with a passion for waxing. It was a bit hard to make out what she was saying over the incessant sniffling of the woman repeatedly touching my face with no gloves, so I'm sure I missed some of the nuance of their relationship to each other. All in all and with respect to fairness, the eyebrows look fine. If you go here, your eyebrows will probably look fine too.

My hair stylist knows what to do with my hair! Seriously it took a long time to find a good stylist in GR. So happy I found her.

Good luck trying to get ahold of anyone. Online or on the phone. Its RUDE. I reached out and was left on "read" by a hairdresser, reached out to the salon, they dont pick up phone calls. Do you even want business? Dont waste your time on this place, it isn't worth the trouble

Jenna is the girl! She has an eye for detail and does an amazing job. From a full color to just a trim she makes the experience special. Overall the salon is clean, and trendy. They have coffee and water available, as well as some of the best hair products out there.

Found my new stylist, Jackie - who also happens to be the owner. She does a beautiful highlight job. Always "up" and happy. I'm also like the way she runs her business with very high expectations and standards for her employees who are a "cut above (no pun intended)."
