Pin Up Hair Salon in Dover, NH

I was so happy to find a local place that does dry cuts for curly hair, I see Nicole and she is wonderful!  The salon has a welcoming feeling and uses great products!  Highly recommend!

Went in to get natural, orangeish hair and left with bright red to pink ombré. Heading to Sally's tomorrow. At least if I mess up my hair, I can do it for less than $150.

Alex (the owner) rocks! I have somewhat curly hair that can lean toward frizzy or just-messy-not-curly if not cut right. Since getting my hair done by Alex, I routinely get compliments on my hairstyle. I never used to be able to wear it curly in the winter because of the lack of humidity, but now I can, even after sleeping on it or wearing a hat! Also, recently, I decided to phase out my color which had the potential to be extremely awkward because my hair is really dark, my whites are really white and all concentrated at the top center of my head. But she did this clever blending thing (like foils, but in reverse, I think) that eased me out of color without an obvious I-stopped-coloring-my-hair-two-months-ago line. She loves to educate her clients, so I've learned a lot about how to get the most out of my curls and about the mechanics of hair color.

I am also quite chemically sensitive, and not only does Alex really understand this, she finds all sorts of ways to help with it whenever possible. She has never made me feel uncomfortable for needing special accommodations for this like other salons have. Also, the salon only uses products that are environmentally friendly, which means healthier for our bodies as well.

Besides all that, I just plain like her! She's a good egg, authentic as a person, and you get the sense she genuinely cares about you. She has always been very fair in her business practices and I see how she trains her team. Although I've never had my hair done by any of them, I feel confident that you'd get great service by any of them because of the tone she sets in her salon. She takes a lot of pride in her business.

Lastly, the salon itself has a fun and funky vibe. You are greeted in a friendly way and offered a drink the moment you walk in. Alex's super mellow pooch might give you a sweet welcome as well. I could get my hair done closer to home with plenty of salons in Portsmouth, but for me, PinUp is worth the drive to Dover.

My first time going to Pin Up and I was not disappointed !! I had my appointment with Shawna and she is amazing and made me really comfortable and talked with me to learn what I was going for  I'm so happy to have Listened to my sister Lisa and my niece Brianna I'm coming from a very bad experience with the other hair place and I can't say enough good things about Pin Up Hair Salon!! AND they have cruelty free products

I had a great experience at Pin Ups.  Not only was it cozy and friendly, they also have special training for working with curly hair!  Looking forward to returning!
