Paradise Nails in North Haledon, NJ

UPDATE*** It's been 6 days and my nails are already chipping at the top where the gel polish didn't cover. Gel typically lasts me at least two weeks from other places. I work an office job so not really doing much with my hands that would have caused this ---------------------------- I thought this place was just average. The staff was friendly, the gentleman that runs the place was so nice. But I didn't find it that hygienic. All of the files that were used on me were clearly already used in other people. Also after filing my nails they didn't wipe off the nail filings from my hands so she did the entire manicure with my hands covered in nail filings. They did not paint my nails all the way to the tips of my fingers so you can see the whites at the top. Will have to file that down otherwise it just looks like it's already chipping and I just got them done today. They also aren't shiny and look kind of dull. I'm also pretty sure they ripped me off. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. I had a gift certificate for a regular manicure and pedicure, and I asked if I can pay the difference and i still owed $30. On their Facebook page it says a gel manicure is $35 and a regular manicure is $15. Even if they raised their prices, a $30 difference seems like a lot.

I started going back and have been going to Amy for awhile . I am very happy with how she does my nails. I love that they are open on Sundays. The only negative is I feel pushed to pay for a chair massage but it's not that big of a deal. The place is clean and the staff friendly. I took off some stars because I do not like when a business nickels and dimes you. Been going there faithfully and needed to take off my acrylic nails and get a gel manicure. They charged me $15 dollars to take them off even though I was having them redone there. That's definitely a rip off. I don't know if I will be returning .

I absolutely love this place. My review is specifically for pedicures. They are so kind when you walk in and honor appointment times (in my experience). They have a wide range of colors to choose from across various high end brands. Pedicure technicians are lovely. Never once had anyone judge or say something about feet for me or anyone I've had accompany me. They put a liner in the foot spa and you can watch them open fresh tools. They always check the water temp, have working massage chairs, and let you choose between Lavender or Green tea for the foot bath and lotion. They use a hot towel, hot stones, and you can opt in for callus removal starting at $10-15. The technicians take their time and do an excellent job. Complementary water can be provided upon request. My pedicures always come out beautiful and my feet feel clean, refreshed and ready to go! They even have a loyalty punch card for return visits and a cash discount price.

I never once had been to a nail salon that took 2 plus hours to complete a refill of a set of acrylics. Not only did it take long but the polish was nothing like what i had asked for. When i asked the nail person to take off the polish they started arguing with me. I agreed to pay for my nails which had no gel or polish on them and they charged me 55 dollars for nails with no polish or gel. I will never be going to this place again and I do not recommend it for anyone:

Horrible! The girl that polished my nails did a terrible job. She also hurt me by digging into my cuticles, even to make one finger bleed! No apologies after I told her she was hurting me! I question their licenses?
