Ceanna is a BOSS who knows what she's doing. She took the time to listen to make sure she understood what I wanted. I wanted a soft, mushroom brown, low maintenance balayage for the summer time... and that's what I got! I'm always skeptical trying someone new but but her bold, transparent personality made me feel like I've known her for ages and it helped keep the convo free flowing. Satisfied customer!
Ceanna is a hair color artist, especially for Asian hair, so you don't get brassiness. You can also tell she cares a lot about the work she's doing, making sure the customer feels comfortable, and that they have a positive experience. She's very warm and enthusiastic as a conversationalist and tries to get to know you so the time goes quickly during your appointment, but of course if you'd prefer to zone out or don't want to chat you can let her know too.
I had my hair bleached and glossed in Korea last summer, and have needed to get my roots bleached and retouched every few weeks-2 months. I booked an appointment easily through Vagaro, received the confirmation within a few hours, and had a very smooth appointment. I appreciated that Ceanna is not a typical salesy stylist, she doesn't pressure anyone to rebook or buy any products but is happy to guide anyone for what they need.
MODA Studios in Beaverton is located in a small older shopping plaza off Hart Rd. It is very approachable and down-to-earth, while keeping their facilities clean and modern without unnecessary frills.
Ceanna is truly a wizard when it comes to hair!
(especially asian hair and any of those highly sought out grey tones)
Plus, she is a hoot! Super fun to engage with - so the time really flys by!
I was reminded of her magic from an ad on IG, and decided to schedule an appointment to revive my hair considering that its been a minute since my last time in
This is my second time back, and I can confidently say that i have no regrets, nor will I be going to anyone else after this.
My first time going to the Beaverton salon and I have to say that I was really disappointed. I've waited about a week to write this to mull it over but felt I needed to say something, in the end (not that it will make a difference). I thought the salon itself would be a bit more upscale but I felt like I was just at a SuperCuts in a strip mall. Really needs a bit (a lot) of updating. The countes and cabinets were dirty with splotches of dye that wasn't wiped up fully. Perhaps the ladies there only really want to do color but I was just there for a cut, wash and style so I felt like I was not the priority. I don't understand why stylists feel like they need to talk the whole time. That tells me that you're likely not really paying attention to what you are doing. I had to ask to have certain parts of my hair cut because she just kind of ignored them, was rushing. My hair wash didn't even seem to include my whole head. It didn't feel like a proper full service appointment where one leaves feeling really beautiful and relaxed. I think I came out of the appointment looking more disheveled than when I went in. My hair did not have a finished polished look to it, it was shaggy, felt grimey. I went home (trying not to cry) and washed/restyled it myself just to feel clean and go into work.
And the final clue that the stylist couldn't care less about my business was that she didn't even offer to make a subsequent appointment. Just kind of pushed the cell phone my way for my signature and walked away. Even though I would have declined politely, the fact that she didn't care about repeating business was telling. Feel like I paid $80 for a $14.99 hair clip. Won't go back.
I was able to get a last minute appointment for a haircut with Roxanne (because when I get the urge to cut my hair, it must be done asap). She was super nice and left my bangs just like I wanted them. On top of coming out with smoother hair! Prices are reasonable and I would definitely return here
