Mama Keita's African Braiding in Milwaukee, WI

Terrible service! Terrible braiders! Do not go here! I spent all day on Saturday getting my hair braided by one of the braiders, TaTa. Mama Keita had me come in thinking she would do my hair, however she was not there at the time she said she would be. She never showed up so one of her workers named TaTa did my hair. She tried to swindle me out of more money but that didn't happen. I paid 180 for braids that were unfinished. I noticed hair left out in the front as soon as I got in my car so I returned and had TaTa fix the issue. However when I got home I saw that even more hair was left out in the back, I made many attempts to reach mama Keita, she would answer and say call her back then give me excuses as to why I couldn't come in. Finally she stopped answering my call all together. I ended up taking the braids out after less than a week. Such a waste! Terrible service! Do not go here! Less than 1 star.

This place is horrible. I waited over a hour to get serviced. And no one showed up. They kept saying "someone is coming" but never showed. This place gets zero stars from me. Terrible customer service

10/2/20 I went for a scheduled hair appt at this establishment. During the 8hr time frame I was present, the owner and her two stylist refused to wear face masks despite the owner and her client openly expressing symptoms of illness. During the early stage of my hair being braided I made several complaints about how the stylist did not appear to be styling my hair as I requested. I was reassured each time by the stylist and owner that the end product would look as I requested and at the very least, the following week would show to be closer to the desire stlye once the braids loosened up. Seven days later I needed to go into the hospital for cold like symptoms after first experiencing them 3day after my hair installation (I am also 8mths pregnant). Nine days later I contacted the owner to request a portion of my fee be refunded due to the poor job her stylist did despite both of their theories that style would appear 7 days later. With the loosness of the braids I have now been able to observe the poor parting and large sections the stlyist made which resulted in an an unprofessional look. I have been told that no refunds of any kind would be given and now the owner express symptoms of fever, cough and fatigue. Fingers crossed for all those in the shop exposed to whatever sickness she's experiencing.
