Luna Hair Salon in Gales Ferry, CT

My daughter had saved up her money to get her hair done. She wanted all over silvery blonde highlights. We texted a picture of the cut our daughter wanted and the color to the stylist. The day of the appointment our daughter came out afterwards in tears. The color was more of a bright blonde, not much different then the color she had, the only color we can see that was added was a dark blonde low light, and the top of her head doesn't look like it was touched at all. When we let the stylist know our daughter was unhappy she did say she'd add more highlights/foils, however she commented about our daughters hair being a bright blonde, which is not what our daughter wanted. So clearly the stylist didn't listen to what our daughter wanted or the picture we sent. There was never a mention on our part or my daughters of her wanting bright blonde hair, only silver. And even if it was bright blonde the stylist was going for, she missed the mark since it really wasn't that different from what my daughters current color was in the first place. We asked my daughter if she wanted her hair fixed by the stylist but she declined saying she didn't want to go back there since it was always on the original visit and she didn't want it to be more awkward. So the two stars is for the fact the stylist was offering to try and fix it. I'm just sad for my daughter who wasted her money on hair that looks nothing like what she wanted.

First of all, I love the way this salon is designed! The decor is beautiful and Kelli is so welcoming and just a blast to have a conversation with! My hair turned out exactly how I wanted. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend this salon!

Beautiful, warm and welcoming salon with extremely talented stylists. Tina has been my stylist for many years, as has Kristen, and they always make time for me, accommodating my crazy schedule. My colors are beautiful and natural every time, the cut is perfect!  Highly recommend!

I will never go in there again.  I got in there about 5:50 and when I walked in I was just looked at. I sat down and then at 6:06 I finally got asked if I have been helped... and also when I sat down one of the the clients was getting their hair done said something the hairdresser and then they both looked at me..So when I was asked if I have been helped I said no and that I thought that was very rude that nobody even say hello when I walked in. Someone asked if I had an appointment and I said yes at 6:00, but forget it and I walked out.I felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome.

This place is wonderful! I made an appointment rather last minute for a blowout for my engagement party for myself and my mom, and the service was amazing! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, our hair came out great, and the price was affordable. Highly, highly recommend!
