Lady-D Queen Braids, Weaves & Styles in Columbia, SC

Went and sat in this young lady chair today (Lady-D) she was so professional and kind...the shop was so comfortable OMG and I love my braids not tight   Lady-D Queen Braids & Weaves will be see me again

I was looking for more recent reviews in 2021 and found the latest review being almost exactly two years ago, November 2019.  I am new to SC and am in search of a salon that I can connect with and continuously go to for my haircare. I am a successful professional and would have been bringing other Black professional and well-to-do females in my circle aboard to support another Black women's business.  I thought I found that shop today when I searched the internet, drove the 45 minutes from my town, to stop by to inquire about a particular hair braid job. Once there, I found the person I spoke to as prioritizing her phone call vs hanging up to greet me and answer my questions.  Making me, at least, feel welcome as a newcomer to the salon would have been a polite gesture. Instead, I was made to feel as if I was an irritant, interrupting her phone calling at the shop. Many other women were braiders actively engaged with their clients which was why I approached the one person who was not braiding.   This person was rather curt and dismissive towards me, and seemed to only speak with me to be tolerant until I left.  Their website revealed beautiful photos of braid work, including the style that I sought for myself.  However, because customer service is more important to me than the styles, pricing, talent, and availability, I simply will not return there due to this one person. The person with whom I spoke with was just too unfriendly and appeared impatient with me, making me feel like a nuisance to her. I wish I would have gotten her name, as she appeared to be around my own four daughters' ages, who would have shown greater deference to customers and even more respect for senior customers. I am disappointed but do see this behavior as consistent with many young Black females who fail to have good customer service while serving the public. She just lost earning $1000s of dollars from this client and her peers.  I am simply a nice person looking for a shop of nice, welcoming workers.  Lady-D Queens B&W is "not" that shop. I pray the woman I spoke with was not the owner, as it would explain why the last Yelp review was 2 years ago.

I won't say anything bad about the place I used to go get my braids done - but I'm not going back.
I'll be at Lady D from now on. The prices are the same as everyone else, but these ladies are much more personable. The shop is incredibly clean and I feel like they value my scalp. We talked about my edges and caring for my hair, which no one else has done.

Great Environment and fast service! They have TVs for you to watch. Hair can be provided for your service. They have bags and everything there. Would totally recommend

Beautiful salon. They have plenty of braiding hair and a selection of weave and wigs. They have hair products and fashion bags. They provide snacks and soft drinks and water. There's two cable TV's a nice bathroom and plenty of space. I've never experienced a braiding shop like this. They take their time. They are professional and affordable! I'm so pleased with my Senegalese twists. It's been 8 years since I've done twists or braids. I'm coming back here for sure and I recommend you all do too!
