Kim's Hair Salon in East Hartford, CT

I have pin-straight hair and the hairdresser at Kim's knows exactly how to cut my hair. She doesn't speak any English so I gesture with my hands that I just want 1" trimmed. I have a very simple bob haircut. This is a bare bones haircut. She sprays it with a water bottle to dampen it and snips away. My haircut is very precise and even. The prices are low and I couldn't be happier with the haircut that I get.

I'm really happy that I found this salon.

I would have given 5 stars but it isn't the fanciest or most luxurious salon. It does deserve 5 stars for the haircut.

It's appointment only, and you understand why once you get there. It's a one-woman show, which is respectable because she works really fast.

I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she got straight to work. I regret not telling her to keep my hair long, and I wish she asked me questions to confirm my desired cut.

She did not talk to me, which is fine. It was a 20 minute cut combined with my long (hip length) hair, and her pausing to tend to another customer's dye job.

When she finished, she styled it with a brush and hair dryer. It wasn't good styling, but I didn't mind too much.

The hair cut itself was not great. It looked nothing like the picture, and she struggled with thicker Asian hair apparently. There is a chunk of bluntly cut hair at the back of my hair that I guess she gave up on before focusing on the top layers.

I went from having long hair to still somewhat hair (chest length) that's an awkward length.

I will not be returning.

Quick with the scissors and gave my fiancé a stylish cut within minutes!! Superb work !!!!

Located in an unassuming (and pretty empty) shopping plaza, Kim's Hair Salon is a hidden gem of a place to get a haircut. They are still operating during these times, just make sure to make a reservation! Safety was clearly the priority here. They take your temperature at the door and the lady was wearing a face mask and shield.

The haircut was quick, stylish, and efficient. I went with my usual undercut look with a fade on the sides as opposed to a hard part. She listened to my request to leave the top length a bit longer and finished the edges up nicely. I was in and out in a record 15 minutes. Base haircut for men was $18 plus some tip. You won't find a better deal elsewhere. Will definitely be coming back for future cuts!
