JennPaintt Nail Lounge in Los Angeles, CA

I just moved to LA and found my new perfect nail spot! On my first visit, I did modern gel and my nails lasted 3 weeks. Just went in for a re-fill and my nails are looking refreshed for fall. Definitely check out JennPaintt Lounge.

I've been going to JennPaintt for a few months now and have been consistently very pleased! Both the gel extensions and modern gel services have lasted very well between appointments -- a solid 2-3 weeks for the gel x and 4 weeks for the modern gel, which is great considering I do a lot of cooking and baking, so my hands go through a lot.

Despite the salon always being pretty busy on weekends, I've never had to wait more than a moment or so after arriving for my appointments. All the staff is very professional and helpful! Super efficient salon but I never feel like I'm being rushed. The space is also super cute and very inviting.

In my experience, the final cost has always been consistent with the prices advertised online for removals, shape change, nail art, etc. I'm always looking forward to my next appointment!

The receptionist is very nice  and accommodating. Sam did a wonderful job with my nails . I will say that this place is pricey but I feel like it's worth it when you're treated like a princess

Walked in for a gel signature pedicure. It was just ok and definitely not worth $70 (+3% card surcharge + tip).

The pros were that they were able to get me in right away without an appointment and it was super close to the hotel I was staying at in DTLA. There was also a large selection of colors and styles to choose from.

The cons: the chairs were not comfortable. All the chairs are the same and not adjustable so I had to put a pillow behind me and then also sit forward the whole time for my feet to reach. Cold water was used in the bowl and I had to make a comment twice that the water was cold. She was very apologetic and it was a mistake that she corrected, but by then it only made it a little better because she just added hot water to the cold, making it lukewarm. Though I told the receptionist and the technician I just wanted a signature gel pedicure, I was asked three times if I wanted a manicure and the technician asked me multiple times/kept trying to talk me into a VIP pedicure.  This lasted throughout the whole time I was getting my pedicure. It was very obvious they want you to spend more money. I was considering upgrading but with the cold water and uncomfortable chair, I really didn't want to be there any longer than I had to be to get my nails painted. Though she ended up going through all the steps of the "spa pedicure," there was definitely not a 10 minute massage. I'd say it was 2 minutes, if that.  I don't mind spending $70 on a pedicure that's worth it, but this definitely wasn't worth it at all!

Also note there is a 3% fee if you use card. They let you know when you are cashing out and have an ATM onsite. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of.

Have been here a few times and after the last couple of times I will not be back. At first I didn't like how expensive (&im used to dropping a pretty penny on nails) their nails were but they did a good job so I was like whatever. But as someone who takes their time seriously and makes appointments for a certain time for a reason, I can not go to a place like this. Last time I made an apt with a certain nail tech and once I got there they told me she was running behind so to just wait a few mins. 30 mins goes by and I'm wondering what is taking so long. Lady at the front desk tells me it will be another 25 mins for my nail tech!! Then today I made an appointment for a pedicure and when I get there they tell me same thing just a few mins. 15 mins goes by and I see them take someone back who got there after me for a pedicure and when I ask how much longer she tells me oh it's going to be a wait. So don't waste your time with them, unless you like waiting forever to pay for overpriced nails
