Indigo Salon in Red Wing, MN

This place gets 5 stars for friendliness and customer service. When you walk in the staff include everyone in conversations so you don't feel awkward. They 'run' over and give you a pre-warmed neck cushion and then offer you a refreshment. Everyone is smiling and no matter how busy, they all notice you walk-in and I also noticed, it doesn't matter what you look like! Women with no make-up in sweats got the same treatment as professionals and well-known customers. This is a super plus from my perspective! I hate snobby places that you can't be comfortable in-- this is NOT that place. I've heard raves about several employees including Andy. Michelle cut my husband's hair and really worked to understand what we wanted. She does a lengthy scalp and shoulder massage, didn't make judgements, but still offered her thoughts and advice in a professional way. Great experience just sitting and waiting. Great products (Aveda) and other services like make-up. I would knock them a star for the terribly expensive Keratin treatments but did find them close by for the usual $150-200 for a year's treatment, so no biggie, but they charge for that by the hour ($150 so you would end up possibly paying $400 +). For me, this is the reason I have to go elsewhere. Despite that, the customer service is so great, it makes me wish I didn't have curly, frizzy hair, so it wouldn't matter. Super nice staff!

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding in Hager City (across the river) and all 4 of us bridesmaids plus the bride and her mom got our hair done here! We had a great experience- they were very friendly and excited for us. Each girl's hair was unique and held through the entire night! Sue did the bride's hair and it looked amazing. The prices are average and affordable and the service was great. Definitely worth contacting them if you are looking for a wedding day hair salon in Red Wing!

I usually get my hair trimmed at Great Clips or places similar to that. I decided to splurge and get a hair style and color at Indigo salon in Red wing. I am so glad I did! Everyone went out of their way to make me comfortable and pampered. I left feeling relaxed with a great new style along with tips and a couple products that work with my crazy hair. I was also impressed with the prices, it was less than I expected, so I was able to give my stylist a much larger tip :) Indigo salon also has a day spa which I hope to try out sometime.

We went to Indigo to do hair & makeup for my wedding as well as the bridal party and mothers. I think I had Kristy and I wish I remembered her name for sure but she was GREAT. She did my hair on Friday and Saturday and I was pleased with both styles and in fact, still am getting compliments on my hair style from the wedding. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. They get 4 stars instead of 5 because scheduling all of us was a little challenging (though it worked out) and more importantly they do not do trial runs. I understand to some extent but the hair is such a big part of a bride's overall look and if you are going to them for just this one time and you don't know your stylist, it would be nice to have that option. Anyway, great full service salon for hair and makeup. They do more than that but we all kept it to the basics. Oh, they do lashes too. Thanks, ladies!

I was in a wedding party on Saturday, and we got our hair and make-up done at this salon. They were great! All the updos were unique and looked good on each lady. My hair was all in place even at the end of the night (1 AM). Sam (Samantha did mine, but all the stylists were great).
