Happy Nails in Lake in the Hills, IL

PSA!!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE! This was my favorite nail Spot. Been going for a few years now. Then boom today I was sitting there getting my nails done and a younger black girl walks in the lady ask "do you have an appointment? The girl says no! They said oh we booked for today come back another day! The black girls replies I'm a regular no one can do my nail? The nail tech replied no! The black girl leaves! 2 minutes later a white lady walks In, Nail tech ask her "do you have an appointment the white girl replies no! The nail tech gets up to quietly tell her to have a seat! I cleared my mf throat! I said so you turned away the black girl but you're going to services the white girl.

I made an appointment and wasn't seen until an hour after (40 minutes before closing). Nails didn't look professional, I could of done a better job to be honest. I only give it two stars for them being nice while doing service. I wouldn't recommend this place and I won't be coming back. I should of listen to the reviews.

A little over a month ago I heard Happy Nails was under new ownership so I decided to give them a try. I've since been back a few times for my second dip manicure and my second pedicure. This is by far the best salon in the area! They take their time with each customer and are very meticulous! I always call ahead and make an appointment and I've never had to wait more than a few minutes. I've had several of the techs - Mee (the new owner), Lana and Tina and they are all excellent! Mee just did a beautiful pink and white dip powder and it's the prettiest I've ever had. I've also had 2 spa pedicures that lasted a full hour. It's so nice to finally have nail services that last. In the past I would get a no chip that started peeling after 2 weeks. My dip powder from Happy Nails still looked great after almost 4 weeks! My sister has also gone a few times when she's in town and loves it! Oh and my husband has gone twice for spa pedicures and has been very happy! Please give this salon a try, you will not be disappointed!

I'm sure just like any places, there are good and bad technicians. I guess I just happened to be the unlucky one today. My nails are uneven all over, as you see in my photos. The filing on my thumb is crooked, polish is too thick, nail surface is uneven, cuticles were uncut - overall, they look like they're a week and a half old. Of course, I'm not going to reveal the name, so I'd you're planning on going there, I hope you get a good one.

Went here last fall for my daughters birthday since they had what appeared from photos, to be a really cute area for little girls to get there nails done. First, we made an appointment for two girls. They were busy when we got there so they sent one tech over to start on my oldest. The second tech didn't come over until the first one was done. Which means my daughters didn't get their nails done together. The Little Miss Kitty chairs they had them sitting in were torn and tattered and it took them a minute to figure out which ones were fully operational. My last complaint is my biggest. If you have little girls coming in, you should not schedule them with a grown man since the little girls leg has to rubbed and massage. I feel like that's common sense. It was a bad experience overall for my daughters. So such so, that I'm still thinking about it almost a year later
