HALO AVEDA Salon & Spa in Winston-Salem, NC

I recently got a cut and color done here and was overly impressed. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and offered a drink. The salon itself is clean and modern. The stylist really took the time to talk me through the process and helped me find the perfect shade. It is also woman owned and operated which is a big bonus for me. Overall, I had a great experience, and look forward to returning soon.

Great experience and my hair color was perfect.  Friendly staff and stylists! I will definitely be going back.

Pros: nice staff
Cons: bad eyebrow waxing. I left, went to car, went back (I've never done that before) but there were too many hairs missed. The eyebrow waxing room is the same as the massage rooms. So it's really dark and hard to see anything. I told them this this first and second time I went back. I left and had to pluck about 20-30 more hairs at home. They are just not even shaped- the ends of the eyebrows are fuller than other parts which doesn't make sense. Again, appreciative of their time and kindness. But they need to get some better light! Too many easy to spot hairs were missed. I have my cosmetology license too.

This place is decent. The atmosphere is great & it's overall beautiful inside & inviting.

The employees as well is great, the girls that do the hair are super sweet & know how to keep a good conversation. I do love the two girls that did my hair there as people.

Now, the actual service? It's mediocre for how much you're paying. I usually get full highlights & a tone. It will typically cost me somewhere upwards of 120 dollars before i leave which is down right ridiculous because i could do what was done to my hair at my house if i wanted to.

I love having platinum blonde hair, it's what i love on myself, yet when i go in, i do not come out with that, & that is what i ask for. They do not add enough foils in my hair & i have a lot of hair. & i mean a lot. I'm usually getting upwards of 100 foils in my hair. I think i got about 65-70 foils when i was here. They do not use a lot of product on you, & the lady that did my hair made my hair look like i had a smudgy root instead of platinum like i love.

Once she removed the foils from my head i was disappointed, & i got a groupon the first time so i didn't spend a ton.

I went back a second time to give it a shot. Same thing happened & i specifically told her i wanted a lot of foils because i want platinum icy hair. I did not get what i wanted & i spent over 100 dollars plus tip on something i did not want. I don't know why they use so little, yet you spend so much.

I'm used to paying 60 dollars plus tip on getting EXACTLY what i wanted but my previously stylist quit, & i needed a new place to get my hair done.

Also when you say you have a groupon, i think they look down on you a little bit which is kinda sad because you do groupons to get more customers? Don't look down on someone who is trying to save a coin. Because when i mentioned i had a groupon the girl got real snappy with me.

Now I'm trying to find a new place because i spent way too much on a mediocre job, & my hair is still blonde, but definitely not as blonde as i want it.
