Good hair day salon in Duncanville, TX

I wouldn't call myself a regular client, but I have come to this salon a few times. I've never received service from the same person each time I've come . It's kind of weird because you can really have like 3 different people in your head in one day depending on the services you request and who's available at that time . I booked a wash , a protein treatment , a trim and a blow out . In order for my services to be done together or back to back I had to book with different stylist who had openings . Example being : stylist 1 might be available for a wash and trim at 1pm but not have time for your protein treatment so stylist 2 may have a protein treatment available at 145pm, but not have an available appointment time for a blow out so you have to go to stylist 3 who may have one space at 215pm . (Hopefully I'm not confusing anyone with my example ). So if you're someone who doesn't like the idea of too many people in your head, you may have to bend a little on your availability or pay a bigger penny to book all your services with one stylist. The good thing about that is you get to browse thru their prices as well and choose what works best for you and your pockets . It's not a deal breaker for me , and I've always gotten great service , results and even advise. My favorite stylist of them all , was Krystal Hubbard. My first time seeing her , she was pretty pregnant and was approaching her maternity leave. She was the sweetest and the funniest ever . We had great conversations, and it really felt like I had known her for years just based off the level of comfort in our discussions . Unfortunately, my work schedule made it hard for me to be able to book with her moving forward . She's obviously popular and great at what she does because she stays booked up . ***Recently , my daughter wanted to do a sew in for her birthday. I have my regular weaving hair stylist , only she did not have not one space open for March . So I decided to give good hair day a chance , since they've never done me wrong before . We booked with Tamaya Gray. The service was a little pricey at $175 for a leave out sew in , but unlike other stylist in this generation, Tamaya's prices came with a wash and detangling as well. Which was huge plus to me because my daughter has some really really thick and curly hair and I dreaded having to be the one to have to detangle her hair. The service took a decent timing , just a little over 2 and half hours and my baby girl absolutely LOVED her hair. Tamaya gave recommendations/suggestions for maintaining the hair as well as the treatments she felt my daughter could benefit from . and they were so appreciated. Although I have my go to weaving stylist , it's very likely that I would return to her again. She does quality work for sure .

I made an appointment wit Nicole for 1pm (or there about). She has braided my hair once about a year ago and I was very satisfied. However, this time...NOT so much. She called to reschedule my appointment and pushed it back about 30 minutes. Which was not a problem. I arrived at the time she rescheduled and she came out and spoke and went back to the client she was working on. I waited about 45 minutes and she came out again, shampooed and conditioned me, placing me under the dryer. I waited about 30 after the dryer was finished . Now its about 3-3:15 or so. S rinses out the conditioner and tells me she's finishing about 3 more braids on her customer and I'd be next. Its now about 3:30ish.. About 4:45 I'm still sitting. A young man comes in with his daughter and she gives him a 5:30 appointment. I'm thinking oh ok I should be done in about an hour since I'm only getting an updo with about 8 braids. Finally I get in her chair and its around 5, she blow dries me and starts on my hair a few minutes til 6. Now her 5:30 has arrived and is sitting until about 6:30 She finally goes out and asks him to come back in the morning (Sunday) Time moves on (as I watch EVERY episode of Family Feud) and its now 7pm - I'm still in Nicole's chair, 8 o'clock comes and I'm still in Nicole's chair. About 8:45 she finishes and places me under the dryer for about 15 minutes. I stayled about 5 mins and told her to just check me out so I could leave. My patience was shot by this time!!!!! Absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! Needless to say, my experience was HORRIBLE, I'm not sure whether or not I'll be back but I' am sure of one thing - based on the last experience, I will definitely consider long and hard before making another appointment with Nicole.

This salon is wonderful! Laterah was my stylist today and I'm beyond pleased with my hair. The energy in the salon is peaceful and all of the staff were professional and courteous. I will be using them for my salon of choice.

This is added to my list of favorite salons in Texas!!! today was my first time at goodHairday Salon. I took my grandmother here who is visiting and I wanted her to have a good salon while she is down in Texas for awhile her hair recently fell out due to a bad sewin in St. Louis. Today she received a deep condition treatment, some good oils for her scalp and protective braid from stylist Nicole L. The service was amazing, My grandmother had the biggest smile on her face! also salon was nice and clean, professional atmosphere and people! On my way home my grandmother said she can not wait to go back and see Nicole to get a Bun. This makes me happy we will definitely be back!

Had my 1st appointment several days ago and I had the best experience! Daneka was a joy to talk to and I really like the cut she gave me. I have a texturizer (applied myself) and needed my hair cut into a style. The ladies were very nice and welcoming. I'll definitely be going back!
