Fashion Nail Spa in Petoskey, MI

This place is totally still opened, just closed on Sunday's. Pedicures are nice and last a while, and acrylics if put on by the right person are nice as well. However I went in to get my set taken off and instead of the free nail color I opted for shellac. They charged me $45! I would understand if getting my nails off didn't come with a free manicure, but it does. And then to top it off it started chipping the next day. I would never pay to get them done here again.

Have been a customer here before and was satisfied with the service but today I inquired how long the wait would be for a shellac manicure, was told 15-20 minutes. After waiting 45 minutes I was finally at the top of the list. A couple customers came in after me and received service before me, so after wasting an hour waiting I left!! Disorganized salon!!

I visited Fashion Nails last week for the third time this Summer. They are now strictly walk-ins, so I had to wait about 20 minutes for my refill and pedicure. If I had known how horrible it would be this time, I would never have waited. The man who did my nails came in from smoking and didn't bother to wash his hands. He then did my refill. He was rough and hurt me several times. Then when I asked him to make my nails shorter, he gave me a dirty look. Then when he was polishing my nails, he did a HORRIBLE job and gave me a dirty look and attitude when I asked him to get the color to the edges and to paint the tips. When he was done, my nails looked terrible. The acrylic was uneven and clumpy (and has since broken and cracked in 3 places). It was hands down, the worst refill experience I have ever had in the 15+ years I have been getting my nails done! He was rude, impatient, rough and downright surly. When he was done he just pointed at the pedicure chairs and waived me over there. Didn't help me with my purse or anything. My pedicure was lovely. The young woman who did it was very sweet. She did a very nice job and was pleasant and chatty without being annoying. I would go back to her in a heartbeat. I have to say that given my experience last week, I will not return to Fashion Nails. When I am up in Northern Michigan next Summer, I will go somewhere else.

I came here with my Aunt for a birthday pedicure. It was a Monday @3pm so not the height of season, very quiet, etc. chairs were clean, equipment in good shape. Bathrooms were well maintained and clean. Polish selection was limited but ok - bring your own if you're picky or really in love with a color. Service was quiet, polite and speedy. Chair massagers worked well and didn't have the annoying auto shut off. My gal even went the extra mile to swipe polish across the top edge of my big toe, ensuring slower wear. My aunt loved the Muzak and we didn't feel rushed. Great experience for $30. Great value.
