Elegance Beauty Salon in Boston, MA

I've been coming to Elegance for over 10+ years although parking was terrible. They have since moved further down Tremont Street and parking is WORSE, mostly residential parking so I don't go that often. This morning I called and spoke to my stylist Faja (spelling?) who I loved and is awesome was told to come in around 11. After 30+ mins (due to construction) I finally find a spot. Doors are locked (understandably because they're in the basement area) so I press press the RING doorbell w/camera several times and NOTHING!!! No one bothers to come to door or responds. I then noticed I received 2 random texts from 2 different numbers asking how can I help you? I respond to 2nd text "Who are you?" and they respond "Elegance Beauty Salon". Have you ever heard of such a thing? Needless to say I responded not favorably as I had now wasted 2 hours of my time and could've done a walk-in at another establishment when I first called and be on my way home by now. It's been now another 30+ minutes and now no response to my response. CRICKETS!!! Not to mention the place is nice, but is a death trap. In the event of a fire,... there is no 2nd means of egress if that one flight of stairs into the stylist area (basement) area is blocked and not accessible.

I recently moved to the area and was in of a Stylist made and appointment and I needed to reschedule last minute, Accomodations were made My first appointment was with Maritza she is phenomenal, my hair was recently braided so with extensions I took my hair out which left a lot of breakage It didn't help my medication is a factor in my hair loss too. I keep it cut into a bob and as she styled my hair I felt the transformation, I left asking can she style my hair again. Great experience i think the best part is that during the appointment she pulled the fan around in front of me as my hot flashes were becoming rapid I recommend this Salon the other Stylist are great too.

I came in, described what I wanted, and the woman who cut my hair gave me exactly what I wanted. And at $35 for a men's cut, it was a lot cheaper than the other salons in the area. The only problem I had was the woman who washed my hair kept yanking on it like I was a dog. So it was hard to lie still while it was being washed. Still, I'll probably come back.

Good things first: The lady asked me to show the haircut picture and she gave me the exact haircut I asked for. The haircut I must say came out really good. The salon was near to my place so I thought to give it a try given the vicinity. Would I ever go back again? I think not. The lady (with blond hair) who washed my hair almost pulled all my hair from roots and handled it very roughly like she was fighting with it forget about handling gently. I had a difficult time understanding them or making them understand anything as English wasn't well understood. The salon was not at all "elegant" and gave me the fish market vibes. Not so sure about the hygiene too. I paid 55$ for the service plus tips. I am sure you can find better. OR if you want to come here, please wash your hair beforehand or you gonna cry ladies!

Hair came out gorgeous! I would certainly recommend people giving it a try. A few things to note: - They do take credit cards (and will let you tip on the card) - They do not take reservations, they will accommodate you when you arrive in order with how everyone else doing. - They are bilingual Had my hair washed and was put under the hair dryer for an hour....after they blow-dried it out to style and I was off with gorgeous hair for $30. It was lovely and a great deal! I have medium lenghthed semi straightened natural hair, so it was nice to have women experienced with handling all hair textures and getting me out of there in about 2 hours. Gracias! I will certainly be back
