Designer Glitz & Glamour Spa and Hair Salon in Universal City, TX

My daughter received excellent service from Jason in the past. Jason wasn't available and we booked with another stylist. We paid $185.00 and I had to take it down the next day, and find a stylist at another salon. My daughter wore a hat to school that day. The stylist never asked my daughter what she wanted, and continued to talk about how uneven her hair was causing her to cry. Overall, the twist were horrible, she wanted the tips of her hair colored, and she colored her whole head. I called to let them know, never asked for a refund, and felt dismissed. I was offered to book, and pay with Jason a week later. Never again!!

First off my stylist did a great job with my hair and she listened to exactly what I wanted though it took longer then expected but the hidden fees where ridiculous !!! $25.00 to detangle my hair that was never mentioned to me until I checked out and then they just decided to add $10.00 for length . Sorry I have long hair. Won't be returning. Ask questions before sitting down.

I had made an appointment a few weeks back, and the day before my appointment someone from the shop called me and asked if I was still coming in for my appointment I confirmed that I was. On the day of my appointment I walk in 10 mins early, I notice the person I "REQUESTED" to do my hair had a client in the chair, so I wasn't worried or in a rush, but then the manager asks me what am I getting done to my hair and who am I getting my hair done by I told her and then she gets some other lady to come start on my hair even when I specifically "REQUESTED" this one person! Mind you I don't like other people touching my hair I've been going to this salon for 10+ years now for the SAME person! So once the lady starts my hair, the manager is asking the person that's suppose to be doing my hair what needs to be done to my hair! That was red flag #1! Then the lady bleaches my hair and washes it out and stuff then puts the dye on top and puts me under a dryer I look at my phones camera and notice my hair has patches of blonde in it and I ask the person who's originally suppose to be doing my hair if it's suppose to do that and he said did the dryer go off? And I said no? Then he said then your fine. I was a little skeptical after that because he didn't even come over and look at my hair he just assumed. Then the lady took me to the back and rinsed me off and put a new color dye in to make it "even out"? I guess I don't know but as I was in the process of getting my hair done the receptionist told me I need to pay right now and I'm like i can't pay when my hair is done? She said said no, because were about to close and I need to close the register, that was red flag #2 so then I'm paying them $155 for bleach , style, wash, and dye?? For a hair color I didn't even request I requested a lighter pink and they put a hot pink in my head and I explained to them that I didn't appreciate the lady doing my hair when I specifically asked for that one specific person! So annoying never coming back again! Poor management!!

I have gone a handful of times and each time my girls look stunning and absolutely love their hair! They are amazing. I believe Taffy and LaToya were our braided and OMG!!!! They are awesome with kids. Very patient and very calm. My babies loved their hair so much my 12 year was crying because it was so pretty! My 8 year old just had to hug Taffy! They already planned out their next style!!! So be ready lol!

I came in about 2 months ago to get a trim. I had some postpartum shedding and breaking so I understand she needed to cut layers in my hair to make it blend. There was an up charge for $10 for that (they called it a "precision cut" - it's called layers and it shouldn't cost more to cut 1/2" of hair off) which she didn't even inform me of that while she was cutting my hair. She just said your going to need layers because the crown was much shorter- i said ok that's fine.... she never once mentioned $10 more which i would have been ok with if she said something. Anyway i was completely blind sided at check out. Then I asked for a style so I could see what the cut would look like which wasn't much cause It was long layers. She charged me $65 to re-flat iron my hair. I came into the salon with already washed and presses hair I simply wanted a trim and style. All she did was flat iron my hair, no bump, no curls, no style just literally re flat ironed my hair so I basically left the salon paying $100 for a hair cut. I'm absolutely frustrated with this business. When I called to set the appointment up I was told the cut was $25 and the style was free since my hair was already washed and pressed, either employees are uneducated on pricing or the person who charged me just got over on me..... seriously how the heck do I end up paying $100 for a hair cut which I didn't like. Additionally, I noticed when i got home I still had split ends so I had to have it cut again. I wanted to like this place but can't after this recent experience. I feel like they got over on me because I was a new face and wanted minimal service. (Only been here one time before this and had no issues i even left them 5 stars) - Where in life do they charge $65 to flat iron hair that's already straight, she ran the flat iron through my hair for literally 2-5 minutes. Needless to say I won't return. Oh and the stylist was 30 minutes late.... simply unprofessional. Ughh I'm still upset... complete rip off!
