I went in on Dec 24 as my regular salon was booked. I wanted a trim and my roots and gray blended to match my reddish brown hair. I had made an appt and arrived 15 minutes prior. They acknowledged me and said they would be with me as soon as done with customer..there were 2 stylists working on boys. About 10 minutes later, a man came in and sat down. One stylist completed her customer and then took the man back. I asked why he was going before me...it was now 15 minutes past my appt time. They said it was first come first served and I said, right...I was here first. No further explanation. The other stylist, Treecie (sp?), took me back. I explained what I wanted, she showed me a medium reddish swatch and put that on my roots for 30 minutes. Then.. She added more to rest of hair and stated that she'd leave that on 10 minutes. Meanwhile, she took care of a customer and didn't rinse out my hair for 30 minutes! The result was black...so black that it had a blueish hue! Somehow she convinced me to try it so I left after she blew it out. Fast forward 2 days...my hair was damp from the rain and after sitting in my beige reclining chair....I got up and found the back of the chair stained with hair dye! I tried everything to get it out and am left with a huge white spot with streaks of brown dye. I called the store on Monday, 12-27 and explained the story to the manager...who kept telling me to come in so she could fix my hair. I couldn't have cared less about my hair at that point, I was fuming about my ruined $1000 chair!!! She told me she would have the district manager call me. Several days later, after no call, I left a message on the Cost Cutters corp site also explaining what happened. Guess what? No one has contacted me. A second call to the store manager around Jan 9th and still no call from the district manager. Now 3 weeks post incident and several shampoos later, I have stained several towels, including white hotel towels. Just wrapped my wet hair tonight and took off the towel to reveal more brown hair dye stains! Hopefully this review gets someone's attention at cost cutters since they refuse to contact me or resolve the situation.

Not entirely sure why they're charging a $3.95 sanitation fee when I watched her wipe the previous persons hair off the chair with her bare hands onto the floor right before I sat down. Not one ounce of disinfectant touched that chair before I sat down. If I'm paying a fee I should be getting the service that the fee is for, not walking out with another persons hair all over my pants. Ridiculous.

I have been wearing long hair for over 15 years. I finally got up my courage to cut it short and went to the Cost Cutters on Old Spanish Trail. I deliberately picked a Tuesday morning, about an hour after opening so that the stylist would be eager and fresh. When I arrived one lady was cutting hair. Another was at the counter doing some paperwork. She ignored me for a couple minutes then told me she'd be with me in a couple minutes. After more than 5 minutes, she greeted me. I smiled and asked for a haircut and shampoo. She finished up some paperwork, answered a couple phone calls then called me back. Obviously she'd had a difficult day already. She spoke to the other stylist as she washed my hair. She'd mistaken Tuesday for Wednesday, thought her scheduled appointment was a no-show yadda yadda yadda. I tried to tell her what I wanted. She didn't listen. So we move to the station and I sit in the chair. She briefly listens as I tell her what I have in mind. then she starts combing and parting. She's still complaining about her morning. Then she stops and says, "I can't cut your hair, you have lice." I am a preschool teacher so not too alarmed but I want to know more. I ask, "Live lice?" She seems to be surprised. "Live lice," I say again. "Or nits." Oh nits. I get up, pay for the shampoo, feeling bad leave a nice tip anyway and then ask, "Were the nits close to the scalp or further out on my hair." Trying to find out if the nits were still viable. She pointed to the back of her neck and says, "There were many, about here." I go home after stopping to buy $50 worth of anti-lice product and new brushes, etc. Before I shampoo, my adult daughter checks my hair. No nits. My husband checks my hair. No nits. I go to a different salon. I got a great haircut and still had no nits. I guess she wanted someone else to have a bad day.

Gotta love it when you find a great stylist (Corrine) that's not far from home. Each time she has done my hair I felt comfortable with her. She uses techniques that I haven't seen before. She really goes that extra mile. Cost Cutters is open till 7pm on week nights, that will help for people like me who get off work at 5pm. The other woman who work here are friendly and keep you in the conversation, you can tell they get along great. The price is reasonable for the convenience. The picture I attached doesn't do the great work justice. I'm happy with the outcome nonetheless. Thanks Corrine

I just moved to the area and had very long hair. I grow my hair out every couple of years in order to donate to wigs for kids or breast cancer patients. I asked the women what she thought I should do. Get a trim or cut it to donate? She said should just trim it and let it keep growing. She chopped all my hair off and cut it 1/4 of an inch too short for the minimum to donate. I came home crying. She literally made my hair look like a giant mushroom tip or a character from super mario brothers. Worst haircut Ive ever had, until the so called manager called me from cost cutters and asked me to come back in so she could fix it. I thought how nice. I was so wrong to return. She in fact, did not fix my hair but made it 10 times worse. You could tell she didn't really want to fix it and was smerking the entire time But couldn't figure out why. Once I got home when I realized she fixed nothing but made the mushroom shape in the back of my head so much worse. This place is horrible and from the way they both butchered my hair its not growing at all. So now I'm stuck with this terrible haircut and I'm terrified to go anywhere else to let them "fix" my hair. I wouldn't take my dog here. Stay away. They ruined my hair not once but twice. Don't go here for women's haircuts. And honestly I wouldn't have even given one star but I had to go write the review.
