Blank Canvas Salon in Ogden, UT

Just... terrible. I went in for a hair cut: a V-Cut, some long layers, and curtain bangs. She assured me she could do it, so I did count the fact that she didn't even know how to style my bangs as the first red flag... since she curled my hair at the end of the hair cut, it wasn't until I had washed and then straightened my hair a couple days later that I realized how terrible the layers were and that there was NO "V" shape to my hair... I text her with my concerns and she was happy and eager to fix it. We set up another appointment, this was where the truth spilled out. After a WHILE of sitting in her chair yet again (idiot move on my end. I should've just gone to someone else, somewhere else to get it fixed) and her just clip clip clipping away at my hair, she hit a mental wall. She called another stylist over to help her... she showed that stylist how she was attempting to do the cut and I could tell that stylist was trying not to show her internal panic in front of me for how wrong her technique was. She began to TRACH HER HOW TO CUT THAT STYLE USING MY HEAD (did ask if I was ok with it, but wtf do you do at that point, JUST FIX IT). That stylist cut half my head of hair, and told my original stylist to just do what she just did. While she finished up, she admitted to me that she struggles with haircuts, blamed her schooling for it, and said she just can't tell her clients that because she's trying to build clientele. What is actual eff?? How about try being honest?! Who knows, I would have maybe selected a simpler cut to help the girl out or MAYBE ask your fellow stylists for help FROM GET-GO. Not AFTER you've already messed up and bows there's only so much hair length left to be able to fix it. My hair ended up *alright* (I still hate it everyday and have the hardest time feeling good about it), it's significantly shorter than I ever planned to cut it. I now feel it is my civic duty to warn as many people as I can to just avoid this place, or at least the stylist: Lauren. You can see her work on her IG @hairapy.by.lauren (I hadn't seen that she had an IG prior to the appointment, unfortunately). Just terrible... she really should just practice on dolls and leave human heads alone until there's actual skill developed.

My experience was the worst!
It will take months and then many more months for my hair to recover. I was even advised by a professional to cut it short!
I went in wanting a simple light brown color and highlights. By the time I left the salon 5 hours later, my hair is a weird dark purple- red color and my hair is extremely damaged and over processed.
It looks terrible. In trying to correct her mistake, she continued to pull my hair until the ends broke off. My hair is 3 inches shorter!
I requested my money back and received a partial payment. Although the girl told me she put purple in the color, she continued to tell me how it was my fault my hair turned purple!!!
I cannot put into words how angry I am! All of the money should have been refunded. ( I'll add this was a gift paid for by a friend.) very very bad experience.

Lynda is honestly the most amazing stylist and human ever! She is very upfront about her price, gives reasonable time frames for the requested services, shares knowledge about her process, and gives great recommendations for products. I appreciate that she knows a lot about her craft because it makes me feel more comfortable putting my hair in her hands! Thank you Lynda for making me feel beautiful and safe in your chair!

I've been going to Blank Canvas Salon for over a year now and I've had the best experience with the girls there every time. Anita does a fantastic job with my hair and Morgan does beautiful nails! They are so down to earth and genuinely good people

Taylor Spencer charged me over $600 for an all over blonding, she burned my hair off! She left me orange and completely damage my hair. I can't even put it in a ponytail anymore. Instead of making things right she blocked me and the owner Jessica is now threatening to sue me for slander. Run from this salon!
