Beauty at the Beach in Oak Island, NC

I just had my hair cut and highlighted by Christina and I couldn't be happier! I have long brown hair and I'm always nervous to do anything different than just plain brown. Christina took her time and truly listened to what I wanted. It turned out perfectly and I will be going to her from now on! I highly recommend this salon. Everyone in there was very relaxed, professional and fun. The salon was completely spotless and smelled nice! It was just an overall great experience!

I did not like the look of my current hair style, and this place received good ratings. I called and got an appointment with Christina. She listened to what I liked and disliked about my current style along with what I wanted. She provided some suggestions, and she did an amazing job cutting and styling my hair. Also, she didn't have a lot of hair to work with, because my hair was already short. She was very professional and personable, as well as being a great listener. If I lived on Oak Island, she would be my stylist.

Last year I had my hair done here for my beach wedding. My stylist did a great job. It was exactly what I wanted.

I got a brazillian wax today-sort of. I was SO disappointed with my experience and will NOT be going back!

The place was very difficult to find, and I was just about ten minutes late, having spent fifteen minutes driving around the area trying to find it. The second I walked in, the woman who was doing it complained I was late. Okay, I get it. My fault. I should have realized it would take me 40 minutes to drive from Southport to Oak Island. Ugh. Then she spent the next 20 minutes harping on me for being late. She explained she may not have time to do a full brazillian wax, and I understood. However, she left a HUGE strip with ten minutes left in my appointment slot. If she decided she couldn't be bothered to finish the job because there wasn't time, the least she could have done was finish properly cleaning up the wax left on and taking the time to tweeze the hairs that didn't come out with wax. It looks horrible. I will certainly not be going back.

The only plus side was that she used hard wax and the facility looked very clean. Sadly, it doesn't make up for the huge attitude problem she had the entire time and the shoddy workmanship. Completely ruined what should have been a wonderful date-night surprise.
