This little place is a gem for a variety of good reasons. First of all the atmosphere is friendly, relaxed, and welcoming. Every time I walk into Barbés, I'm greeted with smiles and I can feel a sense of welcoming. I don't get the feeling of being a customer, but more of a friend. Second, the work is professional. They really listen to what the customer requests. I mean, have you ever gone to get your hair trimmed - just a trim - and walked out looking so different you can't recognize yourself in a mirror? Well, these people don't do that. They do what you ask. Of course, they may make suggestions, but unless you say it's ok to shave half your head, or whatever you want, they'll focus on helping you get what you want. Third, the prices are reasonable. Need I say more?

Short women's cuts can be tricky; and her attention to detail was really impressive -- I mean, *really* impressive.
